Chapter 751 Western Isles Resort & Spa.
That morning, the company staff gathered for breakfast, but neither Citrine nor Sebastian Vesper was anywhere to be seen.
Someone finally turned to Carlotta Yarbrough. "Carlotta, have you seen President Carmichael or Mr. Vesper since last night? They didn't cdown this morning either." Carlotta had already found their absence strange. Hearing the question, she frowned slightly and offered a guess.
"Maybe they're still asleep." She pulled her phone from her pocket and dialed Citrine's number.
A moment later, an icy automated message played: "Sorry, the number you are trying to reach is currently unavailable." Carlotta's frown deepened. She glanced around at the others and asked, "Does anyone have Mr. Vesper's number?" Everyone shook their heads.
After a while, someone tried to reassure her. "Don't worry, Carlotta. Since neither President Carmichael nor Mr. Vesper is here, they're probably together. With Mr. Vesper around, I'm sure nothing's wrong." Carlotta let out a breath, comforted for now.

As she reached Citrine's door, she spotted Hastings Cooper and Quentin Aldridge standing nearby. Hastings leaned against the door frame, cigarette in hand, his expression unreadable. Quentin was glued to his phone, but his eyes kept darting toward Citrine's door.
Carlotta knew full well how much Citrine disliked these two, so she didn't bother hiding her annoyance when she approached.
"What are you two doing loitering outside Citrine's room?" Hastings' eyes flickered with recognition-he'd seen Carlotta before; she was Citrine's assistant.
"Was Citrine here last night?" The two of them had been waiting outside her door since the afternoon, but there'd been no sign of her. Even knocking had gotten no reply.
Hastings, growing worried, had decided to wait all night. Quentin had reluctantly kept him company.
Carlotta shot them a glance and said coolly, "Citrine's still resting. You should both leave. She definitely won't want to see you first thing in the morning." "Are you sure she's still in there?" Quentin's eyes widened as if he'd seen a ghost.
They'd been outside since yesterday afternoon and hadn't glimpsed even a shadow of Citrine. Knocking on her door-nothing. Even Sebastian's room next door had been silent.
"They're not inside?" Carlotta's frown returned, unease prickling at her. Remembering the unanswered call, she felt a knot of worry tighten in her chest.
one Hastings latched onto her words.
"So Citrine and Sebastian have been together since yesterday?" Carlotta didn't respond. Instead, she strode to Citrine's door and pressed the bell for a long moment-no answer. She knocked hard, but still, nothing.
She moved next door and rapped sharply on Sebastian's door as well. No response.
Her worry was growing. "Where could they have gone? Did something happen?" Hastings and Quentin exchanged uneasy looks, their faces suddenly serious.
"I'm going to look for them." Carlotta didn't wait for an answer-she hurried off down the hallway. Hastings and Quentin immediately followed.

Thinking something terrible had happened, Citrine frowned slightly and hurried over. "Carlotta, what's wrong?"
"Citrine! Where were you? I tried calling you this morning but youm phone was was off. t'd been knocking on your door forever and you weren't there-I was worried sick!" Relief flooded Carlotta's face as she saw Citrine standing before her, safe and unharmed.
"So where did you two go?" Citrine replied, "Sebastian and I went over to the neighboring island." A smile finally broke through Carlotta's anxiety. "So you two were together all night and this morning?"
Citrine looked a little flustered and dodged the question, just smiling. "Carlotta, I'm starving. Could you ordersbreakfast?" "Of course! I'll take care of it right away," Carlotta answered, hurrying off.
Now only Citrine and Sebastian remained, with Hastings and Quentin hovering a short distance away.
Citrine ignored them, walking with Sebastian right past the pair.
Hastings' face twisted with frustration. He reached out to ut to grab Citrine's wrist, but before he could touch her, a strong hand caught his arm mid-motion.
