Chapter 214 The True Face of the Team 9 Legend
Larry stood at the school gate in a perfectly tailored suit, a warm smile on his face, like the very image of a
refined gentleman.
From afar, he spotted Sloane walking out of the academic building and immediately headed toward her.
“Sloane, it’s been a while,” Larry greeted her with a gentle smile, his tone laced with concern.
Sloane's brows pinched slightly when she saw him; a flicker of wariness flashed in her eyes.
“Mr. Larry, is there something you need?” Her voice was cool, with not the slightest hint of friendliness.
Larry didn’t seem fazed by her frosty tone. His smile stayed soft. “I heard you and Lucas broke off the
engagement, so | cto check on you. Honestly, Lucas is so ungrateful. If you hadn't agreed to that marriage,
he wouldn't have made it. And now that he’s recovered, he just kicks you to the curb? That's cold.”
Sloane looked at him calmly. “Mr. Larry, this is my personal matter. You don’t need to concern yourself.”
Larry's smile stiffened for a moment before he let out a helpless sigh. “Sloane, there's no need to put your guard

Lucas abandoned you. But if you're willing, | can help you get back into the family, maybe even help you gain

A flash of cold light passed through Sloane’s eyes. Her tone turned firm. “Mr. Larry, | appreciate the gesture, but |
don’t need your help, and | have no interest in returning to the main house.”
The whole cutting ties thing was my plan to begin with. Why would | go back unless | hit my head or something?
Sloane thought.
Larry’s expression twitched slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He

took a step closer and lowered his voice. “Sloane, don’t be so stubborn. You're completely alone now. How can
you possibly go up against both the Rivers family and the Hawthorne family by yourself? If you let me, | can help
you get everything you want.”
Sloane let out a cold laugh, her voice tinged with impatience. “Mr. Larry, aren't you overestimating yourself just
a bit? | already said, | don’t need you interfering in my life.”
The last thing | want is for Larry’s nonsense to drag the main branch back into my business. With that, she
stepped around him and walked off.
Larry’s sudden appearance had left her feeling suspicious. If he approachedbefore because of Lucas, what
does he want now that we're not even engaged? Could it be that he wants to team up to take revenge on Lucas?
If so, how childish can he be?
Watching her retreating figure, Larry pressed his lips together, unwilling to let it go. “Sloane, why are you always
so guarded with me?”
Sloane left campus and headed straight to the Blackhawk training camp. There was an important competition
next month, so training had been particularly intense lately.
No sooner had she arrived than the head coach gathered them with a mysterious grin. “You guys ever heard of
the Team 9 legend?”
“Who hasn't?” someone immediately replied. “He's a total legend in the cybersecurity world!”
“Exactly! His tactical skills are insane. | heard he once led a regular squad to defeat an elite international team!”
“That's not all, | heard he’s a nationally certified talent. He doesn’t even join normal competitions or training
sessions. He only steps in during critical moments!”
Sloane listened to her teammates chatting enthusiastically, her thoughts drifting. Team 9... isn’t that the mentor

The head coach smiled mysteriously, clearly thrilled. “Well, the legend himself has agreed to cteach at our
training camp! And-he’s going to personally guide us
for next month's match!”
The whole room exploded.
“Oh my! Team 9 is actually coming? TellI'm not dreaming!”
“His tactics are untouchable-we have to learn everything we can!”
“With his help, there's no way we're losing next month!”
Even Sloane felt a surge of anticipation. I'm finally going to meet my teacher in person, | really need to thank
him properly.
“Coach, when will Team 9 arrive?”
