Chapter 195 I'm Going to Marry Sloane
The shareholders were livid at Mason's words, their faces flushed with rage, but they were powerless to stop
him. Only now did they fully realize how foolish they'd been to support Mason in the first place. He wasn’t a
capable leader-his ambition and recklessness would only drag the Hawthorne Group into ruin.
But Mason didn’t care one bit about their resistance. Power and greed had already gone to his head. He truly
believed he had everything under control.
He rose to his feet and swept a cold glance around the conference room. “There'll be a shareholder meeting
tomorrow. I'm officially taking over as president. Anyone who dares oppose me... don’t blme for what
happens next.”
With that, Mason turned and walked out, leaving the board members exchanging uneasy looks, full of regret and
helplessness.
He left the company and headed straight for the Rivers estate with a convoy of bodyguards.
Marshall's company had officially gone bankrupt, and he'd been holed up at home, unwilling to show his face

Mason's sudden arrival puzzled everyone in the Rivers family.
He slumped onto the sofa, threw his legs up on the coffee table, and spoke with arrogant ease. “Where's Sloane?
Go get her.”
“Sloane?” Marshall and the others looked at each other in confusion. “She's not
home. We haven't been able to find her.”
Conrad eyed Mason's attitude and ventured cautiously, “Did she offend you or something? Why are you looking
for her?”
Mason's face darkened. “Lucas is as good as dead. | cto tell you-I’'m going to marry Sloane.”
“What? You're marrying Sloane?” Marshall jumped to his feet in shock. It took him a moment to register what
Mason meant. His first thought was that the rumors

were true-Lucas must really be in critical condition.
Adrian, however, frowned, his tone thick with disdain. “Mr. Hawthorne, that girl Sloane is crude and unruly. She's
not worthy of you. Why not... consider my sister Samantha instead? She’s gentle, well-educated, far more
suitable than that Sloane girl.”
Helen chimed in as well, choosing her words carefully. “Yes, Mr. Hawthorne, you and our daughter Mengyao used
to be good friends. If you marry her, the Rivers family will give you our full support.”
Mason's expression turned stormy in an instant. He sprang to his feet and kicked over the coffee table. The crash
of breaking glass echoed through the living room.
He glared at the Rivers family, his tone sharp and menacing. “You think this is up for discussion? I'm telling you
right now-if it’s not Sloane, | don’t want anyone else! If you can’t give her to me, then I'll make sure the Rivers
family vanishes from Stonebridge!”
Everyone in the room went pale. Marshall broke into a cold sweat and quickly bowed and nodded, voice
trembling. “Mr. Hawthorne, please don’t be angry! W... we'll do everything we can to find Sloane and bring her to
you!”
Mason let out a cold snort and turned to leave with his guards. As the doors closed behind him, the Rivers family
living room fell into a dead silence. Shattered glass lay scattered across the floor, and their faces were ghostly
white.
Helen frowned and muttered under her breath, “That Mason... for a man, he sure wears a lot of cologne.”
“What do we do now, Dad?” Conrad was fuming. “Are we really going to sit back and let that little b*tch Sloane
marry into the Hawthorne family?”
They had waited so long for Lucas to fall. With his engagement to Sloane seemingly ruined, they thought she'd
lose everything. And now, out of nowhere, Mason had stepped in. It was enough to make their blood boil.
“Didn't Mason used to have a thing for Samantha?” Conrad pressed, still bitter. “If she can reel him in, our family
could make a comeback in no time.”

Marshall's eyes lit up. He turned to Helen. “Didn’t you tellbefore that Samantha already had Mason wrapped
around her finger?”
