collapsed on the ground, he asked anxiously, “What's wrong with him?”
“He’s been poisoned. There was venom on the blade,” Sloane replied quickly. “We need to get out of here now-I
can’t treat him until we're somewhere safe.”
Andrew gave a quick nod, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes. “I'll carry him.”
Without another word, Sloane helped him lift Lucas onto his back. Her gaze swept the area to confirm that all the
assassins were down, then she took off running behind Andrew as they fled through the forest.
But they hadn't gone far when Lucas, still unconscious, suddenly coughed up a mouthful of black blood.
Sloane's heart dropped. She immediately ran to him and checked his condition. His face was an alarming shade
of bluish-purple, his breathing so faint it was barely detectable. The poison was already attacking his vital
organs.

Without hesitation, she grabbed the dagger from Andrew's belt and sliced her own wrist open. Blood gushed out
instantly, trickling down toward Lucas’s lips.
But Lucas couldn't even swallow on his own. Without thinking, Sloane leaned down, took a mouthful of her own
blood, and pressed her lips to his, slowly transferring it to him.
Lucas’s lips were pried open as she forced him to take it in.
She repeated the process several times, and only when his complexion finally began to regain a hint of normal
color did she stop.

poison’s only suppressed for now. We still need to get out of here fast so | can fully detox him.”
Andrew nodded without another word and hoisted Lucas back onto his back, sprinting forward without delay.
Halfway down the trail, they ran into the team that had been sent to extract them.
Sloane had already arranged for her backup silver needles to be delivered to Lucas’s villa in advance.
The moment they arrived, she dismissed everyone else from the room and began administering acupuncture to
Lucas.
By the tthe procedure was finished, Sloane's face was as pale as a sheet. Sweat beaded on her forehead,
and her hands were still trembling from the strain.
She'd already been injured, and now she’d forced herself to push through the
treatment.
It took her a long while to steady herself before she could even stand.
Finally, she opened the door and called Andrew in.
