Blackhawk'’s selection process was divided into two stages, an online and an in-person assessment. The online
portion focused on testing candidates’ fundamental knowledge, vulnerability detection, reverse engineering, and
cyber offense-defense skills; the offline segment simulated real-world competition scenarios to evaluate overall
technical strength and teamwork under pressure.
On the first day of the online test, Sloane sat at her computer early, already logged into the exam system.
Coincidentally, both Mia and Taylor were assigned to the sexam room and they were seated right behind
her.
Sloane's fingers flew across the keyboard, fully focused on the questions in front of her.
As the minutes ticked by, her pace far outstripped that of everyone else.

“How is she so fast?” Taylor glanced up and saw how quickly Sloane was answering. He couldn’t believe it.
He sped up, trying to catch up to her progress, but no matter how hard he pushed, Sloane stayed well ahead.
The exam was only halfway through when Sloane submitted her answers and walked out of the room-the first to
finish.
Even the proctor was momentarily stunned.
After the test, everyone started talking.
“Who was that girl who handed in her exam first? What school is she from?”
“Yeah, that was insane. She finished with only half the tgone!”
“She’s gotta be a top scorer. Should we try and get in her good graces early?”
Hearing the chatter around her, Mia’s face darkened like a storm cloud. She scoffed and deliberately raised her
voice. “Don’t let her fool you! Her name's Sloane. The only reason she even got a spot in this exam is because of
her connection to Lucas. Finishing that fast? Please! She clearly got the questions ahead of time. No way anyone
could be that quick otherwise!”

The room instantly fell silent.
“You're saying she cheated?”
“No wonder she finished so fast... so that's the story.”

Many began to condemn Sloane, though a few kept a level head and whispered, “Is that even possible? Could
someone really leak Blackhawk’s test questions?”
Mia, seeing that speople were buying it, smirked smugly and added with mockery in her voice, “Of course.
Why else would she be so fast? She's riding connections, that’s all. Her skills? Please.”
But before she could finish gloating, a girl with glasses standing nearby cut in coldly, “Blackhawk’s exams are
known for being airtight. Every test is randomly drawn from a massive question bank. Tell me, how's anyone
supposed to get the questions in advance? Honestly, even if we handed you the test ahead of time, you probably
couldn't finish it.”
Mia froze, momentarily speechless. Her face turned ugly in an instant. She shot the girl a glare and snapped,
“Even if she didn’t get the test early, finishing that fast? She must've just guessed at everything, trying to show
off. I'm not buying that she’s actually good.”
The girl adjusted her glasses and replied casually, “Jealousy makes people ugly.”
Mia turned livid, her face dark with rage. She pointed at the girl and shouted, “You! What the heck are you
saying? Who's jealous? I'm just telling it like it is!”
The girl couldn't be bothered to argue; she turned around and walked out of the exam hall.
The rest of the crowd slowly dispersed as well, losing interest in Mia's accusations. After all, Blackhawk’s exams
had a long-standing reputation for fairness-leaks were practically impossible. And besides, Sloane's true
capabilities would becclear soon enough in the in-
person assessment,
Taylor stood off to the side, his expression complicated. As shocked as he was by Sloane's speed, he didn’t agree
