Chapter275 Sadly, the door to our hwas locked. They couldn't stay.
Even the neighbors had moved. Laura, my dad, and Remy had to leave.
Back in their own place, Laura put tissues in her nose and senta voice message.
"You irritating girl! I brought you up, and now you're avoiding me? "Don't you forget! You owe everything to me! I found a perfect husband for you. Otherwise, would you have lived so comfortably?" Before Laura could finish speaking, the doorbell rang. She wasn't done yelling yet and asked Remy to get the door. When the door opened, Remy froze.
A policeman was standing outside.
Thinking it was about his gambling debt, Remy panicked and hid behind Laura. Dumbstruck for two seconds, Laura stood before Remy protectively.
Warily, she asked, "Hello, officer. What's up?" "Are you Grace Parrish's family?" Upon hearing my name, Laura gave a sigh of relief. "Yes. Did that girl make trouble? It's useless to talk toabout her. We've cut ties with her..." A fit of uncontrollable pain ran through my body when I saw Laura's face. The police officer was displeased, too. He interrupted Laura. "Grace's husband killed her. Before she died, she called you, but you didn't answer. The best timing to save her was lost.
"Then, we found pieces of a human body. We called you so you could claim the body. But you never answered the phone." "What? She's dead?" Laura repeated.
I observed her face, which betrayed not a tinge of sadness. Earlier, I had fainted at work.
When Laura knew it, she cto the hospital and toldoff.
"Grace, what are you good for? You couldn't even do this? And you make little money every month! We brought you up for nothing!" Laura never cared about me.
If she was sad, it was only because she couldn't get money fromanymore now that I was dead.
Even so, over and again, I had hoped she could love, but it never happened.

"Grace is dead? Mom, I've always wanted her laptop. It's mine now." He was thinking about taking my things already.
They had no idea how hard I had worked. This laptop was the only expensive thing I had bought for myself. "Is she really dead? Where's the body?" Maybe I had been a wondering ghost for too long.
Somehow, I saw Laura shiver a little. Once again, I was hoping she cared about me.
"Mom, at this moment, are you sad forat all?" After a brief hesitation, the policeman took out the photo of my half corpse and handed it to Laura. She gave it one glance and began gagging, her hand propped against the wall.
"Her husband dismembered the body and flushed it down the drain.
"But don't worry. We'll find the rest of her body..." However, Laura interrupted him, "No need." With that, she slammed the door shut. Seemingly exhausted, she leaned against the wall, her hand covering her mouth.
She looked back, hoping Remy could cand support her, only to find he was showing off to his friend on the phone. "Cto my htomorrow. My sister's new laptop is mine now!" Remy didn't pay attention to Laura, just like she had never paid attention to me.
That night, as usual, they had a big dinner and talked and laughed at the table. Only Laura kept looking at the doll on the couch.
It had been my favorite.
Then, Remy said he liked it. So, Laura took it fromand gave it to Remy.
When Remy was tired of it, he just tossed it on the couch.
It was the only thing belonging toin the house. Seeing it again, I felt as if my heart was being ripped.
Laura left the table, picked up the doll, and looked attentively. Remy glanced at her.
"Isn't that Grace's doll? Just throw it away. It's bad luck." Remy snatched the doll away from Laura and tossed it into the trash can.
A piece of paper fell out of it.
It had been wrinkled.
Upon seeing it, my ghost trembled.
My dad saw it, too. Before Laura could do it, he picked it up. I had poured my heart out onto the paper. Now, it was being read.
The words "I wanna die" were written all over the paper. The ink had sunk through it.
It was my way of expressing my sadness and pain.
My dad was surprised at first. Then, he tore the paper into pieces.
"It's good that she's dead! That jinx should've died long ago! Why didn't she just say so if she didn't wanna live? After that, he brought over a basin.
He put my doll and the shredded paper into it and burned them.
The fire roared in front of my family. No sign of grief showed on their faces.
Afterward Remy volunteered to wash the dishes. He kept asking my dad and Laura to take him to my place to get my laptop. Unable to say no to him, they went to my hwith him that evening.
When they left, the police were still looking for pieces of my body in the garbage.
Disgusted by the stench, Remy ran away. M dad covered his nose with his hand. Only Laura stared at the police as if afraid to miss nov something.
