Chapter 2247
Before he could get the words out, the producer clamped a hand on his arm, as though he
was trying to pluck a feather from a lion’s mane.
As expected, Balfour’s icy gaze swept over them, and they both dipped their heads in
unison.
“Do I need you to teach me how to do things?”
“The director didn’t mean that, Mr. Howard. You know he’s got nothing but the movie on
his mind. He doesn’t get all the twists and turns; that’s on us. Just let us know what you
need.”
Balfour didn’t respond.
He was pondering how to flush out the suspect.
Despite claims that many in the crew had issues with Ivy, he knew she wasn’t that kind of
person.
The incidents before had compelled people to take a stand against Ivy, not because they

Moreover, the alleged frictions were minor and not sufficient to justify an attack on Ivy’s
life.
The entire crew shared a collective fate- one’s glory was everyone’s glory, and one’s loss
was everyone’s loss.
Who could benefit from harming the lead actress?
The average crew member surely couldn’t; they depended on the steady operation of the
production for their paychecks. That left the supporting cast.
Balfour decided to start with the actress playing the second female lead.
“Who’s your second lead? What’s her relationship with Ivy?”
Balfour tapped on the table and asked the two men opposite him, but he wasn’t expecting
their reaction to be as if they had just swallowed something foul at the mention of the
second lead.
Balfour frowned. “She’s not here?”
They shook their heads. “No, it’s not that. The second lead is the bane of our entire crew
right now. There isn’t much between her and Ivy, but she’s got a problem with everyone,
and she’s the person everyone in the crew dislikes the most. Especially since she’s the
one who fabricated the negative press about bullying in our crew.”
Balfour’s frown deepened. “Why am I only hearing about this now?”

They exchanged glances. “Even though she plunged the whole crew into this negative
spotlight, she got what she wanted out of it. We don’t think she would have a reason to
harm Ivy. It’s a high risk with no clear benefit.”
Balfour found their naivety exasperating.
Just because this woman had gotten what she wanted, did it mean she wouldn’t harm
others? People like her had insatiable greed.

be a bottomless pit? If she’s done it once, she might do it again. Of course, she would
target the lead actress, because she wants more.”
Enlightened by Balfour’s perspective, they realized how absurd it was to have immediately
ruled out Diana the previous day, especially for such ridiculous reasons!
“Indeed, after Ivy’s accident yesterday, she was spouting all these noble-sounding
statements, trying to get the whole crew on her side. Later, a bit player exposed her, and
thinking about it now, it really doesn’t add up.”
Balfour had little else to say to them, merely instructing them to recount the events of the
previous day.
“Heh, it seems like she’s even more worried than you two, huh?”
After listening, Balfour made that single remark and fell silent.
The two men, feeling guilty, hung their heads.
Following Ivy’s accident and the subsequent events, their performance had been far from
stellar, and Balfour’s dismissive demeanor was entirely justified.
“Uh… It was our oversight.”
