She thought that since the Blanchets had taken in Baber, they must have had some sort of affection for him. As

long as she could regain control over him, they would have to respect her and maybe even give her some

advantages.

Most importantly, with Baber by her side, she could still maintain some sort of connection with Theo. Maybe they

could even rekindle their old flame.

As Patricia was pondering over how to dispose of the boy’s body, a barking sound startled her.

How could there be dogs in the woods?

Could it be a wolf?

Damn, she didn’t have any weapons to protect herself with.

There was no time to think too much. Patricia looked around quickly and started running down the mountain.

Whether it was a stray dog or a wolf, they could feast on Baber’s body first. She could use this time to escape.
