Chapter 1286
Sophia stared at Bartlett’s profile for a while and then said appreciatively, “I really admire your attitude. A lot of
guys would be bothered by a woman’s past.” Bartlett just gave her a light smile. He didn’t talk about himself but
asked her, “What about you?”
Sophia was a little confused. “Me? What?”
“I mean, what’s your opinion on Theo? He has a kid with another woman, but you don’t seem to mind.
Because of Bartlett’s honesty, Sophia didn’t hesitate to express her views. “To be honest, I don’t really mind. If
necessary, Theo and I can raise the child together. I think my current situation with Theo is very compatible. Our
personalities complement each other, and we both feel very comfortable when we’re together. Although Theo

and it’s not going to last.
So, I believe that Theo will eventually choose me.”
Bartlett turned his head to look at her while smiling sincerely. “I wish you the best.”
Sophia returned the smile. “I wish you the best too.”
They continued their journey until Bartlett saw a black car parked by the road.
He recognized the license plate; it belonged to the Blanchet family.
Bartlett parked his car, ran with Sophia to the black car, and knocked on the window.
The window slowly came down, revealing Theo’s cold profile.
Bartlett instinctively leaned in to look but didn’t see Ellinor.
“Theo, where’s Ellinor?” He asked.
Theo turned his head slightly as his cold eyes fixed on him. “Why are you looking for her?”
“Theo, stop messing around. I saw you take her away on the surveillance video. Where is she now?”
Theo expressionlessly took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and spoke coldly after exhaling a puff of smoke.
“She’s gone.”
“Gone? Where did she go?” Bartlett furrowed his brows in concern.
Theo, holding the cigarette, said, “She just refused to let me drive her home and got out of the car. I have no idea
where she went.”
Bartlett got a bit angry. “It’s so late; how could you let a pregnant woman get out of the car by herself?”
Theo’s eyebrows sharply rose. “Are you getting mad at me?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBartlett realized his mistake and took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, I was a bit impulsive just now. Ellinor is pregnant;
we can’t just leave her alone!”
Theo was still expressionless. “I didn’t plan to leave her alone, but she didn’t want to ride with me. If I hadn’t let her
go, she would have jumped out of the car. What do you think I should do? Let a pregnant woman go home by
herself or let a pregnant woman jump out of the car?”
Bartlett was silent for a few seconds. “Did she get a cab after she got out?”
Theo exhaled a puff of smoke. “I didn’t see.”
Bartlett realized he wouldn’t get any information from Theo, so he stood up, looked around, but didn’t see any
familiar figures, and ran back to his own car. He planned to drive along the road to check. If he still couldn’t find
her, he would go to Ellinor’s home to see if she had returned.
In his haste, he didn’t wait for Sophia.
Theo squinted slightly as he watched Bartlett’s car drive away quickly, but his cold face was still emotionless.
Sophia walked to the window. “Theo, I came here with Bartlett, but he seems to have forgotten me. I guess I’ll have
to ride with you!”
