Chapter 1713:
TERR, Deas”
But before she could elaborate, Nate turned sharply and strode toward the car.
With a resigned expression, Corrine quickly followed, slipping into the car beside him. The atmosphere inside
was stifling, filled with unspoken tension.
Matias, seated at the front, caught their tense expressions in the rearview mirror and cleared his throat to break
the silence. “Mr. Hopkins, we've tracked down the truck driver.”
The car hummed steadily down the road. When Corrine stepped out at Celtis Estate, Mandy followed closely
behind, while Nate drove off without sparing so much as a backward glance.
“Miss Holland, let's head inside,” Mandy kindly suggested.
Her gaze fell on the bandage on Corrine’s forehead, and an involuntary frown creased her brow. No wonder Nate
had looked so furious—seeing Corrine like this was enough to shake anyone close to her.
Corrine let out a weary sigh. “Do you know where he’s going?”
Mandy hesitated, visibly uneasy. “Miss Holland... we don’t have the right to ask about his whereabouts.”

hit-and-run driver who had been apprehended would soon wish he hadn't been found at all.

had been pulling the strings behind the scenes. Without another word, she turned and headed toward her room.
Mandy kept pace beside her until Corrine glanced sideways. “I'm going to rest. There's no need to follow me.”

“As you wish, Miss Holland,” Mandy replied, stepping back with a respectful nod.
Inside her room, Corrine lay on the bed, her eyes fixed on the ceiling above, gaze distant, thoughts scattered.
Then her phone buzzed on the nightstand.
She reached for it, frowning slightly when she saw Zeke’s nflash across the screen. She slid to answer, her
voice coming out cool and flat. “What is it?”
Zeke’s voice calmost at the smoment. “How are things on your side?” A short pause followed before he
continued. “I just got word—the Garcia family’s making moves against you. For now, avoid Pinetree City. Lay low

Zeke lost his cool when he heard that. “What? Are you hurt? Are you alright?”
