She glanced at Grace. “Did Susan and Kent just go out for dinner?”
“Yeah,” Grace replied, her voice tinged with gossip. “Something was definitely up between them. Kent seemed like he wanted to
talk to Susan, but she kept dodging him. After dinner, Kent askedto take Theresa hfirst.”
Brandon gave Grace a look but stayed silent.
It was Sophia who frowned and asked, “And then? What happened next?”
Grace shrugged. “Well, Kent just took Susan and left. No idea where they went or what they're up to.”

She didn’t press for more details.
Grace headed into the kitchen.
Brandon glanced at his watch. “Let’s go out for dinner.”
Sophia nodded and called after Grace, “It's late—don’t worry about cooking tonight. We'll grab something outside.”
Grace poked her head out from the kitchen, half her face visible. “You two go ahead. Don’t mind me.”
Brandon didn’t insist. He gathered Theresa in his arms, and the three of them—Brandon, Sophia, and their daughter—headed out
together.
Theresa was thrilled to be going out, especially with both her mom and dad. She chattered excitedly the whole way, barely able to
contain her joy.
Brandon hadn't seen Theresa this happy in a long time.
Even after Sophia had returned, Theresa's excitement had always carried a trace of caution—a lingering fear that her mother
might disappear again because of the memory loss. But tonight, all that fear seemed to melt away, leaving only pure, childlike
delight.
Thinking about everything Theresa had been through, Brandon felt a lump rise in his throat. He didn’t say anything, just reached
out and gently stroked her hair, his touch full of tenderness.
