Brandon gave a small nod. "Yeah, let's set up a dinner with her another time."
He knew it was important to sit down for a proper meal to express his gratitude and say farewell. Otherwise, knowing Sophia's
nature, she might dwell on it forever.
Sophia nodded in agreement. "Sure."
President Poe, who was sitting nearby, chuckled and said, "Brandon, | just made stweaks to the design for the cultural gallery
at the Science Museum with Sophia. Why don't you take a look and see if you have any thoughts or suggestions?"
As he spoke, President Poe handed the revised plans to Brandon.
Brandon glanced over them. They were minor adjustments, nothing that altered the overall concept. Since Sophia had been
involved, he felt confident about the changes, so he nodded. "Looks good to me. No objections."
"Great. Let's finalize it, then."
President Poe beamed, clearly relieved to have settled a major task, and happily chatted away, reminiscing about their school days
over the meal.
Sophia didn't mention her memory loss to President Poe and listened to the stories as if hearing them for the first time, her
reactions more of surprise and intrigue than nostalgia.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBrandon, for his part, simply smiled gently throughout, occasionally glancing at Sophia, who was wide-eyed with curiosity, but he
didn't contribute much to the conversation.
He still held the bracelet he had taken from Marian's wrist, waiting for the right moment to talk to Sophia about it.
President Poe showed no signs of wrapping up the meal.
Watching two of the school's former stars—one a designer, the other a benefactor—return as aplished alumni was a rare
delight. Especially since they were once considered a potential couple during their school years, a topic of much speculation
among teachers. Seeing them now as a real-life power couple, both intelligent and attractive, was an extraordinary occurrence in
the history of West District High.
President Poe couldn't help but be fascinated by their story, which made the meal stretch on leisurely.
Seeing Sophia so engrossed in tales from their school days, Brandon didn't rush to end the meal. He stayed until President Poe was
satisfied.
After saying goodbye to President Poe, Brandon hadn't yet had a chance to speak to Sophia when Theresa and Susan Kent
suddenly appeared, seemingly having awaited them.
"Mom!" Theresa called out joyfully, her voice ringing clearly as she spotted Sophia, her face lighting up with happiness.
Feeling guilty for making Theresa wait due to work, Sophia hugged her tightly.
Theresa hadn't otten about the movie. As soon as she wrapped her arms around Sophia's neck, she asked eagerly, "Are you
done with work? Can we go to the movies now?"
"Of course," Brandon and Sophia said in unison.
As the words left their mouths, Brandon had already opened his arms to her. e here, let Daddy carry you."
Theresa shook her head. "lI want Mom to carry me."
"Mom's still recovering and carrying you might be tiring. Let Daddy do it," Brandon coaxed, holding out his hands.
"I'm fine, really. | can carry her," Sophia insisted.
Theresa wasn't very big for her age, slender and light.
But Theresa, swayed by Brandon's reasoning, shifted her weight to him instead.
Susan couldn't help but tease Brandon. "Wow, Mr. Crawley, you've really turned into quite the devoted husband."
She recalled that despite his reserved demeanor, Brandon had always been considerate, even during their rare outings together
before.
