Sierra was nervous. She had no idea what Zada was about to say next.
Zada didn’t press her and just said calmly, “I was only saying that. Since you're not hiding anything from me,
can you doa favor?”
Sierra let out a quiet sigh of relief. The last thing she wanted was to get stuck in another tense conversation. All
she wanted now was to make Zada the perfect scapegoat and throw this woman in prison.
Putting on a sincere smile, Sierra said, “Of course. We're best friends! Whatever you need, just tell me. If it's
something | can do, | promise I'll help.”
Zada grabbed her hand tightly. “Halsey and her baby are gone. The poison cfrom the chicken soup | made.
Mr. Lane thinks I did it, and he’s having people look for me-he wants to turnin.”
That caught Sierra off guard. She had seen Shaun order his men to arrest Zada back at the hospital, so how the
hell had Zada shown up here?
Sierra probed, pretending to sound concerned, “Mr. Lane told his people to arrest you. Did
you escape?”
Zada nodded. “Yeah. | told them | needed to use the bathroom, then climbed out the window. By now, Mr. Lane
must've realized I'm gone. He's probably already sending people after me! | can’t let them catch me. I'm
innocent, | swear. You believe me, right?”
“Of course, | believe you,” Sierra said quickly, keeping her voice soft and sympathetic. “You, me, and Halsey are
like sisters. You'd never hurt her.”
“Thank you. You're the only one | can count on right now. Please help me, okay?”
Sierra tilted her head slightly. “What do you wantto do?”
“I can’t let Shaun’s men catch me,” Zada said anxiously. “I have to get out of here. Once things calm down, I'll

A glint of cold light flashed in Sierra's eyes. Well, she wasn’t gonna let Zada get away that easily.
And this idiot actually cto her for help. She had just basically signed her own death sentence.
Zada said urgently, “I can’t fly right now-it’s too risky. Can you geta boat ticket? I'll leave by sea.”
“A boat ticket?” Sierra repeated.
Zada nodded eagerly, “Yeah. As soon as possible. Can you get one for me?”
Sierra hesitated, pretending to think. “I'll make a call and see what | can do.”
“Please, hurry!” Zada said, her voice shaking. “I'm counting on you!”
Sierra pulled out her phone. “Okay, I'll call right now.”
She turned her back, pretending to scroll through her contacts while her mind raced. There was no way she was
letting Zada escape.

Zada was supposed to be her scapegoat, and she wasn’t about to let her leave.
Then it hit her-she needed to tell Shaun.
Since Zada wanted to flee by boat, all Sierra had to do was tell Shaun where to find her, and he could catch Zada
red-handed.
Sierra smiled to herself as she lifted
