She glanced back at the hospital room. Halsey had finished the entire bowl of soup.
Forget a bowl-even a sip of the poisoned soup could be fatal. Sierra waited eagerly for the moment Halsey would
succumb.
Zada took back the empty bowl. “Good job. You finished the soup. Now lie down and get srest.”
Halsey nodded. “Okay.”
Suddenly, she clutched her stomach, her face going pale.
Zada'’s expression shifted to concern. “What’s wrong?”
Halsey winced in pain. “My stomach...it hurts so much... Why does it hurt like this... It really hurts...”
Panic surged through Zada. “You don’t look so good. I'll call a doctor. Doctor! Someone get a doctor!”
Almost immediately, a team of doctors and nurses rushed in, surrounding Halsey. “Don’t move. We'll run some
tests!”
But it was too late. Halsey coughed up a mouthful of blood.
The sight horrified the doctors. One of them shouted, “Get the patient to the operating room immediately!
Move!”

Outside, Sierra was ecstatic, but she had to keep up appearances. She rushed forward, feigning worry. “Zada,
what's going on? | just saw Halsey being taken into surgery. What happened? Is she okay? Tell me!”
Zada'’s face went pale. “I-I don’t know! After drinking the soup, Halsey suddenly had severe stomach pain, and
