Chapter 175
When Hailey heard the news, she wasn't surprised. The Davidson Group, already prejudiced against the Dalton
family, decided to take the initiative and cancel their engagement with Isaac.
Despite Isaac and Kenneth holding the fort, the Dalton Group's stocks continued to plummet, and it wasn’t long
before they had lost the glory they once held.
Fortunately, Owen's financial support kept things from spiraling out of control-for now. But it was clear that the
Dalton Group was no longer one of the city’s four elite families, no longer the powerhouse it once was.
In Hallon City, the winds of change were stirring.
Hailey stood by the window in the hospital room, watching the endless drizzle outside. With a deep sigh, she felt
the chill in the air. It was already late autumn.
She was wearing a thin white sweater today, her long hair tied loosely, giving her a gentle and autumnal look.
Thomas was still asleep in the bed, connected to a breathing machine.
The door creaked open.
“Hailey,” cHolly's soft voice.
Hailey turned around, responding with a smile as she led Holly out of the room. “Grandpa just fell asleep.”
Holly nodded. “I'll stay and keep an eye on Grandpa. Mr. Calhoun is waiting for you.”
“Why isn’t he coming up?” Hailey asked.
Holly shrugged. “I’m not sure.”
“Then I'll go down for a bit. You take care of things here,” Hailey said with a smile as she entered the elevator.
It was 10 a.m. on a Saturday.
As Hailey stepped out of the elevator, she immediately spotted the man standing by the roadside.
Owen was wearing a black suit, lazily leaning against the car door. His casual posture was effortlessly alluring,
and with his striking good looks and tall frame, every young woman passing by couldn't help but steal a glance
at him.
In the past two years, he had only grown more charming, his mature and gentle aura now impossible to hide. He
was irresistible to younger women.
Hailey stood there, feeling a twinge of jealousy. She didn’t walk straight to him, feeling a little possessive.

Hailey was wearing a smoky-gray long skirt, the fabric flowing lightly as she walked. She looked effortlessly
graceful, with an air of quiet elegance.
Together, they made a picture-perfect pair.
“You're not at the company-what are you doing here?” Hailey asked.
Owen took her hand, helping her into the car before he hit the gas. Glancing at her, he said in a teasing tone,
“I'm here to take you out on a date.”

“Skipping work to go on a date? What kind of boss are you?” Hailey teased.
“That's why I'm here, to get my punishment,” he replied sweetly.
Hailey rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress a smile. “You're such a smart mouth?
“What did you have for breakfast?” Owen asked.
“I had oatmeal at home. Are you hungry?” Hailey replied.
Owen shook his head.
“So, where are we going now?” Hailey asked.
“I got you the day off,” he replied.
“Hm?”
“I'm taking you on vacation. We're leaving for a week.”
“That's so sudden!” Hailey blinked in surprise. “I didn’t prepare anything”
Owen nodded toward the bag in the back seat. “I packed everything for you
“But Grandpa's still in the hospital, and someone needs to be with him,” Hailey said, frowning “Let’s do it some
other time?
“I've already spoken with Isaac. Don’t worry about it. Now, just sit back and relax while we head to the airport
“But...” Hailey started.
“Don’t even try to argue. You're already in the car, and you're not getting out,” Owen said lightly.
Hailey smiled, shaking her head, and pulled on the seatbelt. “Guess I'll leave myself in your hands.”
Owen grinned. “At your service.”
The happy journey began.
A direct flight from Hallon City to Mauland took sixteen hours. Hailey was completely asleep the whole time,
barely aware of anything.
When she woke up, they had already arrived on a beautiful island in Mauland.
She sat up in the hotel's sea-view room, looking out through the transparent floor-to-ceiling windows. The beach
and coconut trees stretched out before her, bathed in the bright golden light of the sun.
Hailey excitedly jumped out of bed, her excitement palpable.
“Calm down, we have plenty of tto play. Cback to bed and sleep a little longer,” Owen, now lazily
holding her in his arms, murmured.
“Wake up, Owen! The sun is already up. We're going to play, hurry up and get excited!” Hailey said, pinching his
cheek and chatting away.
Owen groggily opened his eyes and bit Hailey’s lip. “Shh, I'm still sleepy.”
“Fine, you sleep then. I'm going to freshen up,” Hailey said, pushing him aside and heading to the bathroom.
Unable to fall back asleep, Owen sat up, rubbed his temples, and looked at the bathroom door with a resigned

affectionate smile. He got up and followed her into the bathroom.
After their morning routine, Hailey changed into a dress and put on a sun hat before heading to the beach.
She wore a red chiffon dress, her long hair flowing freely as she walked along the beach, leaving a trail of
footprints in the sand.

The beach was bustling with tourists-people of all skin tones, straveling solo and others with families.
However, most were couples.
The sight of Hailey in her red dress, radiant and stunning, quickly caught the attention of many.
Hailey rushed into the sea, enjoying the feel of the water as it lapped at her ankles. She spread her arms wide,
embracing the refreshing sensation.
Owen, dressed in a white shirt with the sleeves casually rolled up, flip-flops on his feet, and holding Hailey’s
sandals, walked toward her from a distance.
His tall, slender frame, fair skin, and handsface radiated an elegant, mature charm. His relaxed demeanor
made him look effortlessly stylish.
Owen, wearing sunglasses perched on his nose, stood under the shade of a tree and called out to Hailey in a
deep voice. “Hailey.”
Hailey looked up and called back.
“Cover and put on your shoes.”
“Coming!” Hailey called out as she ran barefoot toward him.
“Don’t walk barefoot in the sand. There might be bugs in there,” Owen warned.
“It’s not that bad,” Hailey muttered, rolling her eyes.
Owen reached out and swatted her lightly on the backside. “Still talking back?”
Hailey gasped in surprise and glared at him. “You actually slapped my butt! That's too much!”
Owen raised an eyebrow. “What are you going to do about it?”
Hailey immediately raised her hand to slap him back, but before she could, Owen easily trapped her in his arms.
Her attempt was nothing compared to his strength.
“You're bullying me!” Hailey pouted, using her classic tactic she had learned from Holly-if you can’t win, just act
spoiled.
Owen smirked. “Kiss me, and I'll let you go.”
Hailey rolled her eyes at him, but she couldn't help but laugh. “You're so annoying.”
Owen grinned, clearly enjoying every moment.
