Chapter 570
With her eyes betraying a hint of jealousy, Irene couldn’t help but glance at Aiden, who stood beside Amelia. She
hadn’t expected Amelia to give birth to a child while in prison.
Meanwhile, Irene herself had lost the ability to bear children and now found herself forced to raise Amelia’s child in
the future.
“Amelia, it’s been a while,” Irene greeted her. “I heard from Warren that Aiden is his child. In that case, I will treat
Aiden as my own child from now on!”
As she spoke, Irene pointed to the driver standing behind her, who held a handful of children’s toys in his hand.
“These are the toys I prepared for Aiden. I didn’t know where you were living, so I came here to deliver them,”
Irene explained, offering a warm smile.
However, in Amelia’s eyes, that smile was so unsettling that it sent shivers of fear down her spine.
Back then, Irene had also smiled gently at her. But in the blink of an eye, she had feigned a fall down the stairs. It
left Amelia wondering what Irene’s true intentions were this time.
Almost subconsciously, Amelia moved to shield her son, positioning herself protectively in front of him.
“What do you want?” Amelia asked cautiously.
“What else could I want? I simply want to be kind to Aiden. After all, he is Warren’s son and will be my son in the
future,” Irene replied with a smile.
“Aiden will never be your son!” Amelia exclaimed firmly, her thoughts racing, “How could I ever allow my son to
become the child of a woman who framed me?”
Amelia couldn’t help but grip her son’s hand even tighter, as if she feared that the woman before her might once

away her most precious treasure.
“Mommy, it hurts!” The little boy frowned, his young mind unable to comprehend why his mother appeared so
anxious.
He wondered, “Besides, why did that other woman say that I would be her son in the future? I’m clearly Mommy’s
son!”
Only then did Amelia realize that she had unintentionally hurt her son, prompting her to loosen her grip on him
immediately.
Irene’s voice sounded again. “Is this really necessary? Amelia, although you heartlessly pushed me down the stairs
and caused my abortion, but…”
“Shut up!” Amelia shrieked, her face turning pale as she interrupted Irene. She mused, “Stop! Stop talking about it,
especially on such an occasion. There are children and parents of the kindergarten around, and most importantly…
Aiden is also here!”
Ignoring Amelia’s plea, Irene continued, “Though you’ve been in prison and paid the price for your crime, someone
who’s been in prison shouldn’t be raising a child. It would be in the best interest of the child to be with me and
Warren. Why must you make a scene out of this?”
Amelia’s body suddenly shuddered, her face draining of color. Her hand holding her son’s grew cold at an alarming
rate.
“Nonsense! My mommy wasn’t in prison! Only the bad guys go to jail!” Aiden rushed forward from behind Amelia,
his small form filled with determination as he addressed Irene with a touch of anger.
Even though Aiden didn’t grasp the full meaning of many things the woman said, he comprehended the part about
Amelia being in jail.
And that was exactly why he flew into a rage.
In his young mind, from what he had seen in cartoons, those in prison were the bad guys. To him, his mother was
the best person in the world. How could she ever be considered a bad guy?
Irene cast a subtle glance at Aiden, and a trace of imperceptible disgust flickered in her eyes, especially when she
noticed that the child’s eyes resembled Amelia’s.
“Just ask your mommy if she was in jail or not,” Irene urged Aiden, her gaze still on Amelia’s pale face. She
addressed Amelia, saying earnestly, “Amelia, you wouldn’t lie to the child, would you?”
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat. As she gazed at her son’s innocent face, she found herself at a loss for how to
answer this question.
“Seems like you have a lot of free time on your hands, Ms. Fletcher!” Rosalie approached Amelia and addressed
Irene. “Before, you sent a bunch of troublemakers to create chaos at Amelia’s food cart. I wonder if the Fletcher
family had a hand in colluding with these thugs. In the current climate of fighting against wrongdoing, let’s hope the
Fletcher family doesn’t end up breaking the law. Who knows, maybe someone from the Fletcher family might find
themselves behind bars!”
Irene’s face darkened, and she fixed her gaze on Rosalie. “Ah, so it’s you! You’ve been to jail as well, haven’t you?
Amella make quite the pair. A lawyer who’s been in jail helping another ex-convict file lawsuits.”:
You and
Ever since Irene encountered Rosalie at the banquet, she had instructed someone to investigate Rosalie’s
background and history.
Rosalie responded with a scoff, “Yes, I did go to jail, but it was a setup, and the law has now cleared my name. The

imprisoned, but how can you be so sure you won’t find yourself in prison one day too?”
Irene’s face reddened in embarrassment. She couldn’t help but feel as though Rosalie, with her composed
demeanor and penetrating gaze, could see through everything.
“Nonsense! If you keep this up, I can sue you for defamation!” Irene snapped.
“Excellent,” Rosalie responded bluntly. “We can examine Amelia’s case while we’re at it, and that way, we’ll
determine if I’m indeed slandering you or not.”
Irene shot Rosalie a venomous glare and then turned her attention to Amelia. “You’ve managed to find yourself a
competent lawyer. However, you’ve already lost the custody case! Amelia Haab, you took the life of an unborn child
in the past. Your name will never be cleared!”
Irene deliberately raised her voice, ensuring that her words reached the ears of those nearby.
Some parents and children had already turned their heads to look. Now, because of Irene’s shouting, even more
parents and children were drawn to the commotion, their curious gazes fixated on the unfolding scene.
Amelia found it impossible to avoid the scrutiny of all those eyes, even if she had wanted to.
After delivering her harsh words, Irene didn’t follow through on her promise to give Aiden the toys. Instead, she
instructed the driver to take them back to the car and drove away.
Rosalie glanced at the pale-faced Amelia and the perplexed Aiden. She comforted them, saying, “Let’s head back
now. Aiden has just learned about these things earlier than he is supposed to, that’s all. It’s not a big deal.”
Once they reached Amelia’s current residence, Matilda clenched her teeth in frustration upon learning about the
incident that had occurred at the entrance of the kindergarten.
“I can’t believe Irene is still trying to harm Amelia after already causing her so much harm!” Matilda exclaimed, her
anger evident in her voice.
