"l just can't!" He didn't see anything gruesabout it.
His wife was in a life-or-death situation; how could he even think of anything else?
Karen spread her hands, "Tellingwon't help, man. It's gotta be Dorothy's call!"
It's not like she was the one giving birth!
"Pacing around won't do you any good. Why not sit down for a bit?"
Everett pressed his lips together, "I'm not tired."
He had to make sure that either Dorothy or the baby, whoever cout of that delivery room first, saw him right away.
"Just stop trying to calm him down, Karen. | get where he'sing from; how can he sit still?" Jeffrey glanced at the storm raging
outside before pulling his wife closer, "Karen, you hungry? | can have my assistant bring us something. The doc said you've been
running on empty since the twins were born, can't have you going hungry!"
"I'm not hungry, I'm too anxious! | gotta be the first to see Dorothy's baby!" Karen whispered the last part, careful not to upset

"Eating doesn't mean you can't stay here. You don't have to go home; my folks are already at our place taking care of the kids."
Ever since Karen had the twins, and her health took a hit, Jeffrey's parents had dropped everything abroad toe back and help
out with their granddaughters!
Now, the couple didn't have to worry about their kids at all.
"Ah, just eat if you're hungry! Stop fussing."
All Jeffrey could do was shrug like a scolded puppy and sit back down.
Suddenly, Everett's phone rang.
He thought it was Dorothy and immediately checked it.
But it was his father.
Amidst the noise of the airport and the sound of the storm outside, his father spoke, "Which hospital are you at? I've arrived in
Eldorria City."
"...You're back in the country?"
"Yeah, | want to see my grandchild being born."
Everett was taken aback, "How did you know Dorothy was giving birth today?"
"Dorothy toldherself. | immediately booked a flight back."
She had promised Jonathan she'd let him know when it was time.
Everett was initially worried about how Dorothy would feel seeing his father at the hospital, but knowing she was the one who told
him eased his mind.
"Alright, I'll send you the location."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Everett took a deep breath.

It seemed... Dorothy had truly moved past their history.
Although Everett hoped for this, after all, one was his father and the other his wife, he still felt Dorothy was being too generous.
Her ability to ive the Lopez family didn't mean the past hurt was erased; she was just swallowing it down.
"It's a boy! It's a boy!"
Suddenly, an excited female voice echoed from the delivery room!
Everett couldn't contain himself any longer and burst through the delivery room doors, only to see a doctor holding a newborn,
about to walk out.
"Mr. Lopez, Mrs. Lopez has given birth!"
"And her? How is she?" He was nearly irrational, stepping towards the inner room.
The doctor stopped him, "Take a look at your son first! Mrs. Lopez is fine, just under observation. She'll be out soon!"
Hearing that, Everett finally turned his attention to the child in the doctor's arms—
The baby was all red, covered in a thin layer of vernix, eyes closed, possibly asleep.
