The thought of an irreversible split with Arnold brought tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.
On the ride back, Aurelia's face was etched with worry.
"Arnold," she began, "I noticed something off about Lisa today. She can't seem to keep her emotions in check and breaks into tears at the drop of a hat. It's not just a sign of weakness, but it might be the onset of postpartum depression. She's all alone in Elysium with no family, no friends, just her and Nova. It's only natural she'd feel isolated. Maybe you should consider moving in with her?" Arnold's thick brows knitted in displeasure, "Did it ever cross your mind that being around her every day might trigger my depression?" He didn't appreciate Aurelia pushing him away.
Aurelia was taken aback.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLisa was beautiful, gentle, and from a good family. Could he really dislike her that much? If Leopold were Lisa's husband, he would have fallen for her.
Aurelia could never believe that Leopold would stay faithful and devoted to her.
He was a man of changeable moods, his temper could turn faster than the pages of a book.
"Why don't you just stop by and check on her and Nova after work each day? Even if you only stay for a little while, it'll lift her spirits. You might ignore Lisa, but you can't ignore Nova. She's so adorable, don't you want to see her every day? A daughter is a daddy's little princess." Beverley chimed in from the side, nodding vigorously, "Arnold, | think Aurelia got a point. Postpartum depression is serious, and it's terrifying. I've heard of women who've taken their own lives along with their children because of it. Maybe hire a few more experienced nannies to keep an eye on Lisa and Nova." Arnold massaged his temples with a hint of irritation, "I got it." Returning to Blossom Villa, after the dinner party, the children were taken hby their parents.
William left with Arnold.
Aurelia, with Kane in tow, got into the car, but he quickly noticed they weren't heading toward the Stirling Mansion.
"Mom, where are we going?" "You'll see when we get there," Aurelia said with a mysterious smile.
They arrived at a secluded villa on the outskirts.
Kane's eyes sparkled with curiosity, "Mom, is this a new house you bought?" Aurelia smiled and took his hand, leading him inside.
In the living room, a man lounged on the sofa, leisurely reading a book.

"Miss me?" "Yeah." Kane nodded, "I thought you were still in the hospital. Why didn't you chwhen you were discharged?" Aurelia gestured for silence with a finger to her lips, "This is his secret. You can't tell anyone." "Not even grandma?" "She knows." Kane was sharp. He understood immediately, "Got it, mum's the word." Relieved his dad was okay, he felt at ease.
He knew Leopold was too strong to be beaten by any foe.
After a quick bath and donning his pajamas, he scampered back.
Aurelia brought a glass of warm milk, and it was their bedtritual.
Kane took a sip, smacking his lips, "Mum, is Nova okay? Aunt Beverley mentioned she almost got heatstroke because of Lisa." Aurelia felt a twinge of discomfort. Since when had Beverley becsuch a gossip? "Nova just had a cold with a slight fever. Lisa tried to sweat it out of her, forgetting it's summer now." Kane blinked, "She must be adjusting after coming back from abroad." Pausing, a sudden thought struck him, "Mum, will Uncle Arnold divorce Lisa? Like you and dad?" Aurelia murmured softly, "I don't know, sweetheart. That's their private business, and it's not our place to pry."
