As the train moved from one station to another, Avery felt a strong sexual tension building up between
their bodies that were tightly pressed against each other.
Avery dared not to raise her head at first. However, as time passed, the blush on her face faded, so
Avery attempted to lift her head to look up at the huge windows of the train and glance at their
reflection.
Cayden was standing behind her with one arm on the handle and the other around her waist, encircling

After walking through the revolving door, Avery kept her head low and made a beeline for the elevator.

sharing it with Cayden.
Her face turned as white as a sheet when she saw him enter seconds after she did.
It took Avery quite a long while just to regain her composure and push the button for her floor.
A strange tension formed in the elevator as it slowly started to go up.
Every time the elevator stopped at a certain floor, the people waiting outside would quickly apologize
upon seeing Cayden and go for the other elevator. No one dared to get into the elevator.
Naturally, Avery received a lot of weird looks from them when they noticed her standing in the corner.
After what seemed like forever, the elevator finally stopped at her floor.
She was about to step out the doors when he grabbed her by the wrist.
“Here, your medicine,” he mumbled softly while handing her a plastic bag with a pharmacy's logo on it.
His voice was tinged with a hint of exhaustion.
Huh? Did he go to buy me some medicine from a pharmacy? Oh... So, that's why he asked me to wait
for him yesterday! I can't believe I just left like that!
During the train ride, he had been standing behind her with his body pressed against her back. After
leaving the subway station, Avery did not turn around and take a good look at him. It was only at that
moment that she finally raised her head to regard Cayden and saw what he was wearing.
Instead of his usual formal attire, Cayden was wearing a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
The lack of a necktie made him appear more casual and approachable, but he still looked as mature
and steady as always.
Avery was so captivated by his appearance that her body reacted on its own, causing her to reach out
and take the medicine.
Having been kept up all night due to her overthinking, Cecelia decided to come in to work early that

her daze when her phone rang all of a sudden.
She answered the call when she saw Nephele's name on the caller ID, only to hear the latter exclaim
excitedly, “Hey, Ery! Do you remember the most handsome and skilled basketball player from the high
school next to our school? You know, the guy named Moore?”
Avery was so shocked that she held her breath and kept quiet in anticipation.
“He has never shown up to any of our gatherings throughout the years, which is perfectly normal, as
seniors don't usually like hanging out with their juniors. Now, here's the surprising part. He said he's
going to attend our gathering this year! According to my mom, he should be having a meeting in
Anglandur this weekend. However, he just called earlier and said he had brought that meeting forward.
On top of all that, he even promised to bring some famous orthopedic surgeons from Anglandur over to
