Chapter 224 Discovering Clues Seeing Sabrina's goofy grin, Landon's stern expression softened. "What's got you so happy?" Sabrina turned and saw Landon, then started bragging. "Allison senta thousand bucks! I can buy snacks now. Allison is so nice to me!" Landon was exasperated. A thousand dollars made her this happy? He had been treating Sabrina well too, providing her with good food and snacks every day. Why hadn't she shown any appreciation towards him? "Just giving you smoney makes someone a good person? What about me? I feed you every day, but I don't hear you saying I'm nice." Sabrina paused, furrowing her brows as she thought about it. Then she looked at Landon with a troubled expression, which made Landon laugh in frustration.

"What's with that look? Are you saying I'm a bad person?" Sabrina shook her head and whispered, "But you're really scary!" Landon was probably the scariest man Sabrina had ever met. Growing up surrounded by doting brothers, she had never encountered someone like Landon-tough and intimidating. Just seeing him made her nervous.

"Sabrina!" Landon shouted, nearly causing Sabrina to fall off her chair. She looked at him with a face full of grievance, on the verge of tears. Fuming, Landon turned and walked away.

Downstairs, with his hands on his hips and radiating anger, Landon attracted sattention.

"Hey, Mr. Wells, who got you this riled up?" teased Shawn Garcia, a forensic scientist and Landon's colleague. Landon shot Shawn a glare, not wanting to talk, and lit a cigarette.

"I heard you've got a girl hanging around lately. How about introducing me?" Landon aimed a kick at Shawn, who dodged it easily, showing he wasn't much less skilled than Landon.

"Don't even think about it!" Shawn raised an eyebrow. Was Landon getting serious about someone? "Now I really have to meet her. Is she upstairs?" Before Landon could stop him, Shawn was already heading upstairs. By the tLandon caught up, Shawn was in the office.

"Hi, I'm Landon's colleague. I heard you're good with computers. Could you helpwith something?" Sabrina blinked her big eyes at Shawn, who was taken aback by her doll-like beauty. Just as he was about to speak, Landon dragged him out.

"Wipe that drool off your face. If you scare her, I'll kill you!" Shawn smirked. Landon was definitely serious about this girl. Rare indeed! Landon went back inside and explained the situation to Sabrina.

"Shawn is a forensic scientist. Their computer has issues. The tech department couldn't fix it; it's a software problem." Hearing it was a software issue, Sabrina immediately agreed, "Leave it to me!" Landon sighed in relief and handed her a coat. "It's cold outside. Wear this. If you need anything, I'll get it for you." Sabrina grabbed her laptop and followed him. It was her first tin the forensics department, and she was curious about all the equipment. She got to work right away. "The program is a mess. The files are all jumbled, and sare missing! This software is ancient. It crashes when there are too many files!" Sabrina mimicked an explosion with her hands, making the forensic scientists laugh. Landon chuckled too, ruffling Sabrina's hair.

"Fix their computer, and I'll get you sfood." At the mention of food, Sabrina's eyes lit up. She reminded him, "The cafeteria staff said they saveda steak!" Landon sighed. Lately, Sabrina had becquite close with the kitchen staff, who treated her like their own daughter.

While Sabrina worked on the computer, Landon handled spaperwork before bringing her food to the forensics department.

He arrived just as Sabrina finished fixing the computer and was explaining how to use it. Shawn was impressed and asked Sabrina.

"Did you really write this program yourself?" Sabrina nodded. "Yep, I designed it based on the file types and functions you need. Don't worry, my programs are the best. If you have any questions, just ask me!" Shawn nodded, looking at his colleagues, who were also pleased with Sabrina's work. "You can open the files and check if anything is missing. If there is, I can help recover it." Shawn opened a folder full of photos. Sabrina glanced at the screen and screamed in fright. Landon rushed over, and before he could say anything, Sabrina clung to his waist, terrified.

"It's scary! Too scary!"

Sabrina started crying. Landon frowned, holding her close as he m looked at the screeix It was full of autopsy photos, bloody and graphic. No wonder Sabrina was scared. "It's okay. I'll take you out of here."

This usually decisive Landon was at a loss in front of Sabrina, sweating profusely. "Sabrina, you're killinghere. Okay, whatever you want, just tell me, and I'll get it for you, alright?" Sabrina kept crying, her stomach growling, making her even more upset. Seeing her rub her stomach, Landon quickly brought over a thermos.

"Let's eat first, okay? After we eat, I'll take you out to buy snacks. As many as you want!" Sabrina hesitated, glanced at the thermos, and swallowed. She agreed.

Landon sighed in relief, finally managing to calm Sabrina down.

As Sabrina ate, Landon took out his phone and sent a message to Alexander.

"Can you ask Ms. Bennett what Sabrina likes?" Alexander raised an eyebrow and handed the phone to Allison, who was surprised.

"What's going on? Why is Mr. Wells asking about Sabrina's preferences? Does he like her?"

Allison found it hard to believe.

Landon, a tough cop, and Sabrina, a sweet, innocent girl she took a deep Sabrina breath, trying to process the unlikely pairing, and then glared at Alexander, seeking answers. "Spill it. How much do you know about this?"
