Chapter 214

(Rose's Pov).

The cab pulled to a stop in front of Griffin's house. It was the spack house as when he was still Alpha. Even

though, he had handed power over to his son-in-law, Theo, Alpha Griffin and Luna Belle was still living in the

pack house.

| hesitated a little before | gathered the strength to push the car door open.

The driver helpedpull my bag from the car before he drove off.

Finally, | stood alone in front of the house.

The Silvermoon pack.

Memories of the terror | faced in the hands of Griffin flooded my mind, and | trembled. Fear gripped me.

| wasn’t sure | was making the right choice by coming here. There were too many unhappy memories in this

pack.

But this wasn’t something | could avoid. | was here for my daughter.

| looked around. The pack was way different from what | was used to. There was something about the

atmosphere that looked cold and dead.

| shouldn't be interested in that. | should be more interested in what | chere for, not how the pack has been.

My mind went back to Shevek.

After my fight with him, | received a call from Olivia, much to my surprise. The way she sounded on the phone

broke my heart.

| couldn’t believe it was Olivia. | was almost sure she was playing with me, not until | heard Griffin collect the

phone from her and shout atto ccarry Olivia away.

He gavethe address, and | thought about the fact that finally, Olivia had begun to see the truth. | was

excited and at the stafraid of what Griffin had been doing to her, and what he might do if | refused to

respond immediately.

| was desperate to save my daughter. Coming here gavea sense of purpose after what happened between

Shevek and

| shook my head. This was not the tto think about him.. | took a deep breath and walked to the front door.

After a few moments, | knocked on the door.

At first, no one answered. It felt like tdragged on forever.

| knocked again.

This time, the door opened, and | cface to face with Belle, as her title was; Luna Belle. She wore a ready

smile on her face, something | was not used to seeing whenever we met.

The smile was... too sweet.

| raised a brow in surprise.

“Rose!” Luna Belle shouted. “It's a pleasure to have you here. How have you been?”

She smirked. “As you can see, I'm good.” | thought | saw a hateful emotion cross her face, but before | could be

too sure, it passed.

“Cin.” Belle invited and opened the door wider.

| entered the house. It was nice, but nothing like Shevek’s mansion, which dripped with elegance.

The house was large with expensive furnishings and modest designs, while Lord Shevek’s mansion was like a

place that could fit in over a hundred people living together.

Luna Belle ledto the living room, where | sat on a couch.

“Where is Olivia?” | asked.

“She-"

Olivia's voice rang through the space as she ran in. She threw herself into my arms and began to sob.

“Mom! | missed you.” She said desperately. “Please takehome.”

| immediately wrap my arms around her and pull her in closer.

“Olivia...” | trailed off. | wasn’t sure what to say, how to tell her | was sorry for keeping the truth away from her,

or how to tell her how much I loved her.

Olivia finally pulled away. | wiped the tears that pooled in her eyes.

“Letget you something.” She smiled, and before | could hold her back, she rushed out.

| exchanged a look with Luna Belle, who gavea smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

| looked away, my lips tightened into a flat line. Something felt odd with her. | hated the way she kept watching

me.

Olivia cback with a drink and handed it to me. | hesitated. | didn’t want anything to do with Griffin. | was

here for Olivia, nothing else.

“Mom?” Olivia looked disappointed when | refused to accept it.

| sighed and took the drink. She smiled.

“Wait for me.” She continued, “Letgo get my things.”

| smiled. | felt my own tears cslowly. My heart squeezed as watched her walk off. She looked so happy to go

home. This was what I'd been waiting for, for Olivia to finally chome.

“You seem excited.” Luna Belle said.

Feeling irritated, | ignored her and took a sip of the drink. Luna Belle took the message and left with a scoff.

Alone, | took another sip, waiting patiently.

Suddenly, the room began to spin. | rubbed my eyes. It didn’t stop. Strength left me. My throat becdry.

What was wrong with me?

Why do | feel dizzy all of a sudden?

My hands trembled as a strange sensation washed over me. | grabbed the couch | sat on to steady myself, but it

didn’t help.

Suddenly suspicious, | brought the cup to my nose, hands shaking.

I smelled it. Wolfsbane.

The glass fell from my hand and shattered on the floor. My knees buckled, and | fell as my eyes began to close.

As | lay on the floor, from above, | saw Olivia stare atwith a nasty smile.

“Silly Mom,” My heart shattered into a million pieces at her words.

The last thing | saw before the darkness envelopedwas Luna Belle and Alpha Griffin standing overwith

evil smirks.
