Chapter 40 Are You Sure She Had an Abortion?
When Amanda returned to the room, she saw that the bodyguards had already beaten the
kidnappers to a pulp. She didn’t dare look at them a second longer as she immediately left
after she took her phone.
As she walked out of the nightclub, she hailed a cab and began to make a call to Helean
when her phone rang.
It was a call from Simon.
Seeing this, she unhesitatingly accepted the call. “Hello?”
“Amanda, where are you? Helean said he couldn’t reach you all night, and Aiden has been
with him the whole time. What’s going on?” Simon’s voice sounded urgent. It seemed like
he had been trying to reach Amanda for a long time.
“I’ll tell you later. I can’t explain everything now. I’m going to pick Aiden up now. Please
tell Helean to wait for me at home.”
She hung up the phone immediately after saying that. She didn’t have time to explain
everything. All she wanted to do was to see her baby as soon as possible.
Half an hour later, Amanda arrived at Helean’s house and rang the doorbell.
As soon as the door opened, her son greeted her in an excited voice. “Mommy!”

and I even thought something had happened to you. We almost called the police,” Helean
said as he leaned against the doorframe behind the mother and son.
Amanda stood up while holding her son’s small hand and apologized. I’m sorry. Something
came up today, but everything’s okay now. I’ll take Aiden home. You should rest up.”
She was about to turn around and leave when another man’s voice came from inside the
house.
“You didn’t drive over here, did you? Let me take you guys home. It was Simon who was
speaking.
Amanda stiffened upon hearing that.
What is Simon doing here…
“That’s perfect. I’ll leave them to you, Boss. I can finally get some good sleep.” Helean
chuckled.
Simon picked up his jacket and walked over. With one arm, he easily scooped Aiden up as
he told Amanda, “Let’s go.”
She then quietly followed behind the man.
When they got to the parking lot, Simon gently placed the child in the back seat of his car
and closed the door. He then turned to Amanda and asked, “What happened tonight?”
He had immediately noticed the injuries on the corner of Amanda’s mouth and the red
palm print on her cheek. It looked as though she had been abused.
“I was kidnapped, but someone saved me. I’m fine now,”
Kidnapped?
There was a hint of surprise in Simon’s eyes. Why is she talking about being kidnapped
like it is just a minor inconvenience?
“Did your ex-husband rescue you?”
“How did you know that?” Amanda was surprised that he guessed it correctly.
Simon smiled. “Who else in Imperia can rescue you within a few hours after you were
kidnapped? Not to mention he would surely have received help from a lot of people to
save you in such a short time. Even I heard about it. It’s clear how anxious he was to save
you.”
Amanda didn’t say anything, but she suddenly felt somewhat guilty.
She pissed Elias off just now. Not only that, it was the first time she had seen him so angry
that he said he never wanted to see her again. I must have really hurt him.
Elias sped off to Winters Estate.
As he was the only one living in this vast estate, the place exuded a noble yet lonely
atmosphere.
The sound of his car’s sudden and violent braking shattered the tranquility of the estate.

to let Simon’s son know that she was safe.
It was ironic that he had worked so hard to save her, but all she could think of now was
Simon and his son.
“By the way, Miss Murphy is here, Mr. Winters. She is waiting for you in the living room.”
“Tell her I’m not here and that I won’t be coming home tonight.” Elias had no time to deal
with Grace when he was filled with anger he couldn’t vent.
“I told her that, but she insisted on waiting for you. She has been waiting in the living
room for over two hours. You should go see her, Mr. Winters, the steward uttered as
though he had been put in a tough spot.
Elias finally stopped and turned around to glare at the steward. “You useless fool!” he
barked. “Why can’t you handle something so small?!”
Grace was currently sitting on the couch in the living room, feeling uneasy.
At this moment, she could only think of the boy she had seen at Amanda’s doorstep and

“Elias, you’re home!” She stood up.
Meanwhile, he strode to the single-seat couch in front of him and sat down with a fierce
expression.
“It’s late. Why aren’t you home sleeping?” he threw out.
Grace hesitated before speaking. “What happened to you today? Why did you leave me
there on the red carpet? Do you know how embarrassed that made me…..”
Elias’ eyebrows furrowed and he replied in a low voice, “Something happened to Amanda.
I had to leave to deal with it. I apologize. I’ll make it up to you next time.”
“What happened to Amanda? Is she okay?”
I knew he went to Amanda!
Grace was so mad she was about to blow her top, but she put on that gentle and charming
mask of hers.
“It’s all right now” Elias massaged his forehead. Just the thought of that heartless woman
filled him with endless rage.
“That’s good.” Grace thought for a while before asking indirectly. “Elias, Amanda carried
your child before, didn’t she? Are you sure she had an abortion?”
Elias raised his gaze and squinted slightly. “Why are you asking me this?”
Or what? Does it seem possible for her to keep the child? He never thought about the
possibility after Amanda told him that she had an abortion.
“It’s nothing. I just wanted to know if she really got pregnant. I hope she didn’t lie to
