185 “Do you hurt anywhere?”
Zi Han felt a little nervous as he sat next to the most influential woman in Onyx Federation. Well, one would ask isn’t his mother the most influential? In truth, Zi Xingxi was the badass of Onyx Federation.
He found that out when he learned about his mother on Starnet when he reached Capital Star. One article headlined that she was the kind of woman people didn’t dare fuck with but wouldn’t mind making her their baby mama.
Zi Han was so pissed off at the time when he read it but when he saw his mother walking in with spots of blood on her face while slamming an energy assault rifle on the kitchen counter it made sense why they would brazenly write that article.
Lin Ruoxi was completely different from his mother. She was a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and motherly figure that resonated with most citizens of the federation.
Faced with this amazing person Zi Han was indeed a little nervous. Lin Ruoxi on the other hand was thinking about why Zi Han wasn’t limping. Forgive her for being forward but Yi Chen was his father’s son.
That meant it was impossible for nothing to happen when he was in the same room as the person he likes. She was thinking from experience with her husband. Marshal Yi had a way to convince her that she would find her resolve crumbling in minutes.
Yi Chen might be the silent type but deep down he was as sly as his father and there was no way he wouldn’t try something when alone with Zi Han. And this mother was encouraging it. Her baby’s happiness was very important. As the future Marshal, he needs someone to keep him sane otherwise those old geysers would drive him nuts.
This was why once or twice a month if she was in a good mood she would sneak into her husband’s office with a slutty outfit underneath her coat and seduce him so he could vent it out.

.....
Thus she was happy shipping these two and made sure to do anything in her power to get them together. Now that her son liked someone she wouldn’t let that person escape that easily.
Lin Ruoxi smiled happily as she took out some wet wipes to remove the horrible makeup on his face.
Zi Han who felt a slight sense of unease being looked at like that accepted the wet wipes but his fingers paused when he heard her ask, “Do you hurt anywhere?”
Zi Han, “...”
Seeing Zi Han’s expression Lin Ruoxi was a little surprised. It suddenly dawned on her that maybe her son was the um..... ahem in the relationship. It now made sense why Zi Han wasn’t limping and even managed to walk around with no issues but her son was passed out cold. Interesting.....
She took out numbing cream and said, “May I trouble you to apply this for him before you leave...”
Zi Han accepted the cream but his brow couldn’t help but arched upwards. Was this cream for muscle ache or something? If that was the case then it indeed made sense.
“It’s no trouble. He was so weak that I had to help him into the bathroom,” said Zi Han recalling how troublesome Yi Chen was. Even taking off his clothes was a problem. He was so restless like a dog that knows it’s about to have a bath.
His response was innocent but to Mama Yi, it sounded like her son was so worn out that he could barely move. Oh, please don’t blame her. The fact that Zi Han was now wearing Yi Chen’s clothes further confirmed that something did happen.
“Oh okay, I just hope you guys didn’t overdo it. It is very important that one shouldn’t over-exert themselves. It’s not good for the kidneys,” she said and Zi Han stopped removing the makeup on his face.
What was she talking about? Did she mean training? It seemed these two people were thinking at different wavelengths.
Lin Ruoxi thought she had made it clear but seeing Zi Han’s expression she suddenly had a hunch. Had she misunderstood these two?
“Han Han, how long have you been with Chen Chen? What I mean is how long have you... um... um been....,” she said unable to ask directly.
“Been friends? We met almost four months ago. It didn’t go so well the first time we met. But we worked out our differences and recently decided to be friends. Well, I am not like Li Ran who has known him for years but we get along pretty well,” he said and Lin Ruoxi’s heart sank hearing this.
Her son hadn’t even grasped this person. What the fuck was he waiting for? And here she thought that they were already dating.
“Oh, that’s good,” she said and handed him another wet wipe as the other one had so much makeup on it already. The room fell into silence for a while. Zi Han could tell Lin Ruoxi was thinking about something thus he didn’t disturb her.
Zi Han just stared at the warm cup of tea Lin Ruoxi prepared for him while wiping the makeup off his face.
After a short silence, she suddenly said, “Excuse me, I have to go check on my roast.... Would you like to come along?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmZi Han didn’t mind thus he got up and followed her to the kitchen. It was better than staying alone in the lounge.
“Would you like some help?” he asked and Lin Ruoxi glanced over in his direction while politely declining.
Zi Han sat on the bar stool and noticed the floating screen on the kitchen counter. It seemed that Lin Ruoxi was trying to make creme brulee for dessert or something.
On an impulse, he said, “I can help you make the dessert.... I’m pretty good at it,” looking at her with an eager expression. He knew he should come up with an excuse and leave but he couldn’t help but want to stay a little longer.
He and Yi Chen were close friends now and he kinda wanted to integrate into his family just like Li Ran. This is the reason why he didn’t refuse when the Yi siblings invited him over.
Lin Ruoxi was a little hesitant. She knew that her husband and Zi Feiji didn’t get along well thus he didn’t want to get him in trouble. The kid had already skipped school for Yi Chen and she would feel bad if she kept him here longer.
“Won’t your grandfather be displeased if you delay going home?” she asked placing the carton of heavy cream from the fridge on the kitchen island.
Zi Han smiled gleefully as he stood up and replied, “I have his permission to stay longer... I will measure the ingredients first.”
Lin Ruoxi, “....”
“Okay.... the measuring stuff are in the top drawer behind you... You know you can just let the housekeeping robot measure it for you, right? It saves time,” she said curiously watching him.
“Mm, but sometimes I like doing it myself. It gives me a slight sense of accomplishment when I see the end result,” he replied laying things out on the kitchen island.
Lin Ruoxi could relate. For her cooking was therapeutic and gave her a sense of gratification when she saw her family enjoying what she made for them.
