121 PissedOfGrandpa

Zi Han would definitely get out of this unscathed, physically that is. He wasn’t so safe though on an emotional and mental level. That’s because in his entire life he had never attracted this much hate to himself before.

Even as he sat furthest from the boisterous activities at the center of the room he could still feel the resentful gazes following his every move. Feeling slightly annoyed Zi Han lowered his head and began to mess around with his light brain.

He coincidentally received a notification from the sudoku app his grandfather liked playing and had convinced him to download. The game involved daily challenges where one could play against a random person on Starnet or people in their contacts. Zi Han had set it to challenge people in his contacts and when any of them logged into the app he would receive a notification.

This time he received a notification that his grandfather had logged in and was seeking a challenge. Zi Han knew his grandfather must be mad at him for leaving without warning so he decided to coax him this way. By the time he gets home then his grandfather’s anger would have cooled down greatly.

Without much thought, he logged in accepting his grandfather’s challenge. Biting his lower lip he tapped accept and sure enough, the old man didn’t skip the opportunity to vent out his anger.

A radiant smile appeared on his face dazzling Yi Chen who was sitting next to him. He had been trying to break the ice but found that he couldn’t come up with anything.

This made him feel a little flustered but after seeing that smile he couldn’t help but feel the weight on his shoulders melt away. He told himself to act naturally. It’s not like Zi Han knew his true thoughts. He should just treat him like a regular friend.

Yi Chen exhaled deeply and asked, “What are you playing?”

Zi Han who was focusing on the numbers in the tiny boxes replied, “I am playing sudoku with my grandfather. This sly fox is really good at this,” without raising his head.

.....

Yi Chen was a little interested so he leaned closer to take a look. Seeing their heads that were a few inches away from each other Yi Feng’s jaw dropped to the floor.

It was Leila who shut his mouth for him otherwise bugs might fly in thinking it was some sort of cave. Because of their close proximity, Yi Chen picked up on that fruity fragrance coming from Zi Han’s hair.

His body visibly relaxed like it had some sort of calming effect. Maybe it was because he felt so comfortable that he began to point at the boxes and tell him the right numbers.

At first, Zi Han was annoyed because his thinking process was getting disrupted but after he realized that he was sitting beside a genius he began to rely on him to help him cheat a win out of his grandpa.

His competitive spirit had been ignited and he completely forgot that his initial intention was to appease this old man by giving him a good game and letting him win at the end.

After attaining his third win streak Zi Han laughed evilly while patting Yi Chen’s arm. “Class president Chen, you are really good at this. I bet my grandpa is throwing a fit right now,” said Zi Han while gently kneading Yi Chen’s arm.

Yi Chen’s initial reaction was to suppress a smile but when he heard how he addressed him he couldn’t help but feel sullen. His gaze fell on the hand that was kneading his arm and his sullen mood vanished again like he was having a bipolar episode.

“Fuck,” softly muttered Zi Han as he took his hand away from Yi Chen. His grandfather’s anger had just intensified having faced another loss.

PissedOfGrandpa: Are you cheating?!

PissedOfGrandpa: You better not even think of coming back home today!

Zi Han, “.....”

“Class president Chen... can I sleep over at your house today. I might be homeless for tonight,” asked Zi Han as he raised his head to look at Yi Chen with a pitiful expression.

BOOM!!!!!

A loud explosion occurred in Yi Chen’s mind hearing this. He rubbed his clammy palms as he opened his mouth but no words came out. “I...,” he said not sure what to say next. He didn’t think he would be able to bring Zi Han home this soon.

Thinking of his mother’s observant character he decided this wasn’t a good idea. He could only take Zi Han to a hotel but at the thought of the word hotel, his mind couldn’t help but have dirty thoughts. At the thought of sharing a bed with Zi Han, his brain cells were fried to a crisp.

Before he could even come up with a response a soft voice interrupted their conversation. Opposite them was a gorgeous girl dressed in a low-cut red jumper with a piece of sparkly jewelry draping down her chest drawing one’s attention to her cleavage.

From the looks of it, she was a famous face and justifiedly so. She was like a divine goddess expelled out of the heavens because of her venomous charm. Beside her was a young man with a face one part similar to hers. Zi Han had no idea who these people were but Yi Chen had heard about them from his mother.

Given a choice Lin Ruoxi would most likely pick this girl to be her daughter-in-law but unfortunately for her, Yi Chen was the least bit interested. They were the Ikeda siblings, the only grandchildren of prime minister Ikeda of Capital Star.

The boy, Ikeda Cresta was a young official climbing the ranks in his father’s footsteps and the girl, Ikeda Yua was an actress and model following in her mother’s footsteps.

At this gathering, Ikeda Yua could be considered the only one worthy of Yi Chen’s attention in terms of family background and looks but for some reason a leech from who knows where had attached itself to her most suitable match.
