Chapter 1935

Maxine stated her name.

As the guards of the Callahan family, it was impossible for them not to know about Floret Palace's Maxine. She was

not only the Master of Floret Palace but also Tacriyrus' Chancellor. She was also very powerful in her own right.

Aside from that, all the guards of the Callahan family were aware that Maxine was once a Caden family member

and was quite close to James.

"So it’s the Master of Floret Palace. Are you visiting the Callahans' villa for a specific reason?" The guards treated

Maxine with great respect once they learned who she was.

"Here’s the thing. James is worried about Winnie staying at the Callahans’ villa, so he came to me specifically and

requested that I pick her up," Maxine spoke softly. Her tone was very calm.

"I see. Come in, then."

The guard did not stop her and motioned for her to proceed, allowing Maxine into the Callahans' villa.

It was nighttime. Almost everyone in the Callahan family was awake. When Maxine appeared in the Callahans' villa,

the family members all stood up.

As members of the Callahan family, how could they possibly not recognize Maxine?

"If it isn’t Maxine, the Master of Floret Palace. What brought you to the Callahan’s villa?" asked Lex.

"Master, take a seat." Others were inviting Maxine to sit.

Maxine sat down. She looked at Lex, who was the head of the family, then at Winnie, who was drinking milk. "Here's

the thing. James is still concerned about Winnie staying at the Callahans' villa. He specifically requested that I come

and take Winnie away."

"Really?" Lex looked doubtful.

Even the rest of the Callahans were puzzled.

James just left yesterday. He did not say anything as he was leaving. Why would he ask Maxine to come and take

Winnie away now?

"Maxine, did James really ask you to come?" Gladys looked unconvinced.

'We could find out if it's true with a simple phone call, couldn’t we?" said David.

"Right." Lex immediately took out his phone and called James.

James was at Mt. Thunder Pass, sitting on the ground in a lotus position while cultivating. Right then, his phone

started to ring.

He paused his cultivation, pulled out his phone, and took a glance. When he noticed the call was from Lex in

Cansington, he promptly accepted the call and asked, "Grandfather, what's the matter? Did something happen?"

Lex said, "Maxine showed up at the Callahan's villa, claiming that you asked her to pick up Winnie, so I'm calling to

ask you about that."

As Lex made the call, Maxine sat on the sofa and watched in silence.

James, on the other hand, stood up abruptly and exclaimed after he heard those words, "What?”

He breathed in deeply, forcing himself to calm down. "Grandfather, I never told Maxine to pick up Winnie. Don’t

give her to Maxine."

In Cansington, at the Callahans' villa, Maxine snatched the phone from Lex's grasp with a casual wave of her hand.

Holding the phone, she said," James, it's been a while."

James roared, "Maxine, what are you trying to do?"

With a faint smile, Maxine said, "Nothing, really. The world hasn't been all that peaceful lately. I’m worried about

Winnie, so I specifically came to Cansington to take her away and protect her."

"You... If you dare to hurt Winnie, I’ll never forgive you," James yelled angrily.

Over a year ago, he was already aware that Maxine had changed.

A lot of things that happened were connected to her. It was just that Maxine did not do anything after that, so

James ignored her for the time being. Maxine going to the Callahans' villa at this time was not something he had

anticipated.

Maxine's laughter came over the phone. "Don’t worry. I'll never hurt her. She's you and Thea's child. I want Thea

herself to kneel before me and beg."

Beep, beep, beep...

James wanted to say more, yet Maxine had already hung up the phone.

His face darkened. With a murderous expression, he clenched his fist and said coldly, "If Winnie is harmed in any

way, I won’t ever let you get away."

He left Mt. Thunder Pass immediately.

"Mr. Caden, what's the matter?" When the Black Eagle King noticed James hurrying off, he could not help but shout

at him, but James did not respond.

Meanwhile, at the Callahans' villa...

After the Callahan family heard Maxine's words, they all stood up and stared at Maxine, alarmed.
