Upon hearing those words, his expression changed again. He avoided her gaze and did not dare to look her in the
eye. Even his manner of speech became hesitant. “Uh… Tessa, please listen to me. It’s not that we don’t want to
appoint you. But.”
“But what?” she immediately asked.
He gritted his teeth and answered straightforwardly, “This is the decision of the higher-ups. They claimed that you
are not suitable for the orchestra and chose Queenie to take your place. I’m just a lowly employee. I don’t have the
