Chapter 182
A red mark appeared on Harvey's face. Ignoring the slap mark on his face, he just stared at Eloise with a gloomy
expression.
Eloise felt a pain in her heart that made it difficult to breathe. She wasn't a piece of wood that didn't feel pain.
The things she hoped to forget, Harvey had once again brought them fully before her.
Eloise's throat moved slightly. She said in a suppressed and restrained manner, "Harvey, sthings can be
bought back with money, like this piano, like these decorations. As long as you're willing, they can be bought,
but once feelings are gone, no matter how much money you have, you can't buy them back."
Harvey stared at her. His opinion of her was still the sas when he first met her. He thought she was beautiful
and wanted to possess her.
But... something had changed. It seemed that after this incident, Eloise had becan indispensable part of his
life, and he could not give her up.
Harvey struggled to say, "What can | do for you to forgive me?"
He knew women well, especially Eloise. He knew she still had feelings for him. If she was angry, and resentful,
then he was willing to make up for it, no matter the cost.
Eloise felt she couldn't carry on the conversation with him anymore. She lowered her head and gave a bitter
smile. "Harvey, when | wanted to talk to you, you didn't givethe chance. Now why do you think I should give
you the chance? Please takeback to the hospital. | didn't even bring my phone with me."
Harvey's lips were tightly closed. In the end, he took her back to the hospital.
The car stopped. Eloise unbuckled her seat belt, ready to get out of the car. Harvey grabbed her arm, his eyes
burning. "I've hired the best team of specialists. They might be able to treat your foot."

Eloise looked ahead expressionlessly. She said, "No need."
With that, she broke free of his hand, opened the door, and got out of the car.
Harvey wanted to follow her, but seeing her so determined, he held back.
In the afternoon, Harvey was in a meeting in his office. His phone rang.
It was a call from the medical team, so he signaled for the meeting to be paused and then answered the call.
On the other end of the phone, the foreign expert told him, "Mr. Horigan, Ms. Laurent has refused our treatment,
so we can only regretfully tell you that we are going back home. Also... based on the current information, the
chance of Ms. Laurent's foot nerves recovering is less than ten percent."
Ten percent...
Harvey held the phone, expressionless. He went to the hospital that night, but Eloise refused to see him again.
The day Eloise was discharged, Griffin came. He cespecially to see Eloise, and to plead for Joan.
Eloise said softly, "Regarding Joan's matter, | don't intend to drop the charges." Griffin was clearly taken aback.
He watched the girl in front of him quietly. She looked a lot like his Louise; even her character was similar.
Griffin said gently, "No matter what, she is your sister. Eloise, can you help your biological father? Can you give
Joan a chance to repent? I've talked to Harvey, he said he doesn't want to deal with this, so I can only cto
you."
Upon hearing this, Eloise couldn't help but laugh because Harvey didn't intervene in this matter, Griffin cto
her for help? If Harvey had intervened, would the Lynch family have been able to proudly take her to court?
And 'biological father'? Tears welled up in Eloise's eyes, "Mr. Lynch, my father's nis Angus!"
Griffin didn't give up. He said even more gently, "The elders of the Lynch family have always wanted to meet
you, they are already on the plane coming here, so we can all get together at that time. This time, just listen to
me, give Joan a chance! Our family will be better in the future."
Forgive Joan? And then have a family gathering? Eloise felt like she was listening to a joke that had nothing to do
with her. She gave a faint smile and looked up at Griffin. "Mr. Lynch, can | ask why my mother left you back then?
How did she leave you while pregnant, and how did you get married so quickly?"
Griffin's face turned pale. That past, that misunderstanding, was his eternal pain! Unable to get Eloise's
forgiveness, Griffin had to leave in confusion. He went to the Horigan family and sought Parker's help.
Parker entertained him in the study, after catching up, Griffin stated his purpose. After hearing it, Parker laughed.
He was actually quite displeased with Griffin. If it weren't for his last visit to his house asking for help, Harvey
and Eloise might have been engaged and waiting to get married and have children by now. It was because of
him that the Horigan family lost such a good daughter-in-law!
Griffin's visit this twas simply to take advantage of his power.
Parker laughed heartily, patting Griffin's shoulder like an older brother, "Griffin, if you let Harvey handle this, it
will only make things worse! Young people can be impulsive when they face emotional problems! | think Eloise
won't let Joan off easily. After all, it was Joan who threatened her first!"
Griffin was somewhat anxious, "Do you have any solution?"
Parker laughed again, "Of course | do, I'm just worried you can't let go of your ego."
Griffin asked for advice humbly. As Parker poured tea into his cup, he said, "Joan's behavior was indeed out of
line! If we follow the normal legal process, | reckon she'll be imprisoned for a year or so. Why don't you take her
to the hospital and get a certificate saying she has a mental illness."
Griffin was stunned. He looked at his old friend, never expecting him to suggest this, a mental illness certificate
for Joan. Does Parker think that Joan still has a chance with Harvey?
Griffin had thought about it privately. Eloise was her flesh and blood, but she was smart, outstanding, and
sensible. Even if she missed Harvey, there would still be other good matches for her. But Joan wasn't like her,

Now, Parker's attitude made it clear the Horigan family didn't accept Joan as a daughter-in-law. Griffin froze for a
moment, then forced out a laugh, "Well, that's one way to put it."
Parker saw his reluctance and just laid it out.
"Griffin, you gotta know where to draw the line when it comes to your kids. Plus, Eloise is your real daughter. You
better not get your priorities mixed up! | see a lot of potential in Eloise, and Harvey's mom even had someone do
a horoscope reading. Harvey's other half is supposed to be an Aquarius girl."
Griffin got the Horigan family's message. They didn't like Joan. He felt a deep ache in his heart; no matter how
willful Joan was, she was still his daughter.
He was worn out and got someone to issue a mental illness certificate. So, Joan was released from custody.
After a few days in custody, her expression was even more gloomy than before. One of the male police officers
told her, "You're a lucky duck, you've got a mental illness certificate! But we'll continue to investigate you. Ms.
Joan, you need to get treatment for at least two weeks, or else this certificate is no good!"
Joan was so mad she could spit. She gritted her teeth and swore, "I will not let Eloise off the hook easily!"
Then, the officer told her again, "You better drop any dangerous ideas, Ms. Joan. Ms. Laurent found out about
your mental illness certificate, and she's applied for a restraining order. Which means, Ms. Joan, you can't get
within 2 meters of Ms. Laurent, or we'll send you straight to the loony bin!"
After that, police put her in the car, "Let's go! Whether you're nuts for real or just pretending, you've gotta take a
trip to the nut house!"
Joan struggled and screamed, "I want to see Harvey!"
The person guarding her sneered, "Attorney Horigan doesn't want to see you!"
Joan was completely stunned.
