Chapter 173
Harvey didn't get back to his apartment until the morning.
On his way home, he spotted a white BMW parked on the side of the road.
A curious crowd was gathered around, snapping pictures. Harvey's heart pounded when he saw the license plate.
It was Eloise's car...
He parked, crossed the road quickly.
The white BMW was just sitting there.
The hood was up, soaked from the overnight rain.
The driver's door was open, a lady's purse inside, also soaked and left on the seat.
The crowd was buzzing...
Whose car was this, just left on the side of the road?
Could the owner have met with sdanger?
Was there an accident, had the owner died?
Harvey stood there, momentarily forgetting to breathe.
He took out his phone in panic, only to find it was out of battery.
He reached in and took Eloise's purse, closing the car door, someone shouted, "Why are you taking other
people's stuff?"
Harvey said nervously, "This is my girlfriend's car!"
The crowd looked at him, their eyes suddenly cold.
Harvey hurried back to his car, plugged in his phone to charge, and as soon as it was on, he dialed Eloise.
The phone rang for about 20 seconds before it was picked up.
Eloise's voice sounded tired, "Harvey, not now."
And then she hung up.
Harvey frowned, guessing she was still angry.
He could handle a woman's occasional temper. He thought he should just go home, take a shower, and go to her
apartment later tonight to give her a perfect Valentine's Day.

Eloise was a good woman, so he didn't want to break up with her.
Harvey made another call, instructed his secretary to arrange a tow truck, and then he drove home.
Eloise was not home.
Her bedroom was in disarray, a small suitcase scattered on the floor, it looked as
if she was packing, but for sreason, she didn't take her luggage.
Harvey quietly watched for a while, then went to take a shower.
After his shower, he finally lay down, just then Orlena called.
Harvey was tired, his tone not good, "Orlena, what's up?"
Orlena cried and told him, "Harvey, Eloise's dad passed away, did you know?" Harvey's eyes, which had been
slightly closed from fatigue, suddenly opened wide at this news, his gaze becoming wooden, as if in disbelief.
He finally understood why Eloise had half-packed her luggage but didn't take it, why her car broke down on the
road, why she didn't have tto argue with him at the hospital...
Because her father had passed away.
What all had she gone through this night?
Harvey's face gradually turned white, and he had a feeling: his relationship with Eloise had cto an end.
Harvey rushed to the hospital.
The Laurent family was there, along with a few of their friends and relatives.
They were all saying goodbye to Eloise's father. Eloise was sitting in a wheelchair, wearing a black dress, holding
a bunch of white chrysanthemums.
She looked much thinner, her chin more pronounced.
Harvey cover, Eloise just quietly looked at him, didn't say a word.
She had no love for him, nor hatred.
Landon couldn't stand it, he stepped forward, grabbed Harvey's collar, angrily said, "How dare you show up
here!? Where were you when Eloise needed you most? You heartless bastard!"
Landon lowered his voice, his teeth gritted with rage.
"I've said it before, if you don't want to love her, letdo so!"
Harvey pushed Landon away.
Landon wanted to continue the argument, even wanted to fight with Harvey!
He remembered how Eloise had looked last night, his eyes instantly reddening. Eloise deserved to be treated
well. Harvey, the jerk!
Eloise stopped him.
Harvey looked at Eloise's pale face. He wanted to hug her.
Eloise refused.
She spoke to him politely, "Thanks to Attorney Horigan's help. My dad was able to leave peacefully. | am grateful
that he has chere to say goodbye today." Harvey was stunned.
They were almost married, and not long ago when he held her, Eloise was moved for a moment and called him
her husband.
Now, she was referring to him as 'Attorney Horigan' again.
The title sounded particularly harsh at the moment.
But right now, they were in the prayer room at the hospital. He had a lot more to say, but he had to hold back!
Harvey didn't leave.
Eloise didn't ask him to, but she didn't let him help either. She treated him like a guest of the Laurent family! The
people preparing for Angus' funeral were Landon and sdistant relatives of the Laurent family.
Eloise just sat in her wheelchair...
The next morning, the Laurent family brought Angus’ coffin to the cemetery. On the way, Eloise tearfully looked
at his picture.
Michelle couldn't stop crying either.
Eloise gently hugged Michelle, as now she only had Michelle to rely on.
The cemetery was silent...
Angus was buried, and everyone who had a connection with Angus, whether they were close to him, distant from
him, whether they bore grudges against him, or were grateful to him, cto the funeral.
Dominique Bowen brought Blake Bowen.
Max also came.
Even Parker and Pauline Horigan came, together with Orlena... The Horigan family's intent was clear: they still
hoped Eloise could be their daughter-in-law!
Michelle was sad, but she still asked Eloise's opinion.
Eloise said with a dismissive shrug, "Well, since we're here, let's lay sflowers on his grave. Hope he's all well
in the heaven."

Michelle didn't know what had gone down between Eloise and Harvey, but it was clear their relationship was
toast. So, Michelle just treated the Horigan family with standard guest protocol.
The day they put Angus in the ground, the sky was a gloomy mess.
Angus' tombstone was placed next to his ex-wife Louise's.
Michelle looked at the two gravestones, tears streaming down her face, and said,
"Louise, | hope Angus keeps you company up in heaven."
She promised she'd look after Eloise.
Eloise just held her tight...
Just then, a tall, skinny figure appeared in the distance.
He was dressed well, exuding an air of sophistication.
It was Griffin.
He'd heard about Joan's antics and found out about Eloise and Harvey's breakup.
He decided to pay his respects to Angus to atone for the Lynch family's sins! Eloise didn't stop him, saying,
"Everyone who's cfor the funeral is our guest." Griffin laid down a bunch of white chrysanthemums he
brought. As he placed them on the tombstone, he saw the names etched on it, and his eyes welled up! He saw
the nof the woman he'd always loved his first love, Louise. Her photo was on the stone, with a small
inscription below.
"My beloved wife-Louise Noland. From Angus."
In that moment, Griffin felt like his blood was turning to ice!
He couldn't believe it, repeatedly calling out Louise's name.
"Louise, Louise... how could you be here?"
Despite recognizing many familiar faces around him, Griffin lost it and threw himself onto Louise's gravestone,
tenderly touching the familiar face. His Louise! She becsomeone else's wife. She actually married Angus!
Griffin quickly turned his head towards Eloise!
He roughly calculated her age, and it matched his expectation. Looking closely at her features, he was shocked
to see she resembled him when he was young! Eloise could be his and Louise's daughter! And he had
unknowingly pushed her into the abyss!
He had even fantasized that after Joan's divorce, she could make up with Harvey
again.
Griffin couldn't handle this sudden blow, and he spat out a mouthful of blood onto Louise's tombstone!
