Chapter 124
“It’s an email from Walden!”Shela blurted oud “Mr. Ramirez, Letitia’s still in touch with Walden!”
Letitia’s world went dark for a moment. She nearly passed out, with cold sweat breaking out on her
back. It really was from Walden!
A murderous look flashed in Elgin’s eyes, “Letitia Sanders!”
He snatched the phone opened the email-
“Everything’s okay over here. Letitia, you holding up okay? I miss you. Wait for me to get back.”
Elgin clenched the phone so hard his knuckles turned white.
The next second, he chucked the phone hard.
With a loud smack, the phone shattered into pieces, its screen completely busted
Letitia gasped in shock. She hadn’t even seen what the email said!
Shela couldn’t suppress her smug smile as she saw the scene unfold. Letitia really shot herself in the
foot, huh? Keeping tabs with her ex-fiancé’
“Mr. Ramirez, look Shela said with a purposeful tone, “what wouldn’t she dare do? Carrying an
illegitimate child, staying in contact with her ex, she’s still deceiving you!”
Letitia tried to argue, but her mouth opened and no words came out.
She could only stand there silently
Elgin didn’t say a word either, took long strides, gripping her wrist, and led her to the car.
“Mr. Ramirez!” Shela called out, “Give me another shot, at least I love you, I’ve never betrayed you, I’m
only yours!”
Elgin acted as if he didn’t hear a thing. Rage had taken over his entire rationale!
He practically threw Letitia into the car, his actions rough and violent.
“Mr. Ramirez, the driver asked tentatively, “where to now… now?”
“The hospital”

Letitia collapsed onto the cushy seat, still trying to get up when she heard the word “hospital,” her
pupils dilating uncontrollably.
“Elgin! What are you planning to do!”
A bloodthirsty smile curled on his lips, “What do you think?”
Letitia froze, blood seemingly running in reverse, temporarily blinded, unable to see Elgin’s face clearly.
Seconds later, her vision started to clear.
So this is what it feels like to be utterly terrified…
That was a feeling Letitia never wanted to experience a second time.
“No, don’t… She covered her stomach, inching back. Until her back hit the car door.
“You can’t escape Elgin’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice devoid of emotion, “Letitia, only without this
child can we truly start over.”
“I never thought about starting over with you!”
“But I did.” Elgin replied, “I told you last night, I’m going to love you in my way.”
Letitia shook her head in fear, “This isn’t love!”
“If I say it is, then it is” His word was law!
Letitia felt a buzzing in her ears, her face drained of color.
This kid’s got lucky so many times, but too bad, he shouldn’t have come into this world Elgin pressed
his lips together, “Letitia, without this kid, we can have a future.”
“Without him, I can’t have a future!”
He smirked confidently, “Tll make sure you do.”
“Elgin, how can you love me, you can’t love me, please stop joking, it’s not funny at all… we can’t start
over I’m the daughter of your enerny, we’re sworn enemies, where’s the love in that?”
Elgin card “Yes, I hate you but love is a separate matter altogether”
They don’t clash; they can even coexist. He loathed her father, yet he harbored love for her.
Despair and fear surrounded Letitia. She knew… Elgin was dead set on getting rid of her child!
No!
“I won’t go to the hospital, I won’t!” Letitia kept slapping the driver’s seat, “Stop the car, let me out! Stop
the car!”
The driver sneaked a glance at Elgin.
‘Don’t
you
dare stop” Elgin snapped.
“Yes, yes
The car kept moving forward.
Letitia gritted her teeth and suddenly tumed to open the car door!
Just as she grabbed the handle and was about to open it, Elgin’s hand reached over, encircling her
waist, and the other hand re-locked
the door!
“Letitia, you got a death wish?!”
“I won’t go to the hospital!” she reiterated, “If you don’t stop the car, I’ll have to jump!”
Elgin shouted angrily, “You think your child will be safe if you jump like that? You will die!”
“I know, then let me jump with the child to our deaths, it’s better than being sent to the hospital’s
operating table to watch an abortion!”
He touched her face gently, I can’t bear to let you die. Sit tight.”
Elgin picked up Letitia and sat her on his lap.
This position left Letitia unable to move, forced to lean on him.
He had a faint scent of cologne, his tie was impeccably knotted, his shirt collar pristine.
So dapper, yet so cruel…
Letitia gave up

“Yeah?”
“Can you spare this child, please?
‘No way” He refused flat out
Letitia said, “Just let me have this child, and I’ll agree to any other condition. If you want me to stay with
you for a lifetime, I will do it, I’m willing to stick around. Can we?”
“Only if the child is gone can we possibly have a lifetime”
“Why… why so cruel? What’s the point of a life together if you force it on me like this!
Tears uncontrollably slid down Letitia’s cheeks.
Several times her child had a narrow escape, clinging to life.
And today… was it going to end at Elgin’s hands?
She couldn’t accept that!
“Stop crying” Elgin raised his hand to gently wipe away her tears, “I won’t hurt you.”
“But…”
“Pretend this child never existed, like… that man never was in your life!”
Letitia shook her head, “I can’t…
That night was her first time. That night, that man promised to marry her.
Elgin’s hand, wiping away her tears, suddenly stopped and slid down to grip her chin. ‘Letitia, I don’t
give a damn that you had a fiancé before or that you’re carrying another man’s baby. I’m willing to stick
with you through thick and thin, and here you are telling me you can’t do it?”
Why wouldn’t she agree? She’s always saying no to his sweet deal!
This was the first time he’s bent over backwards for a woman, and what does he get?
Lepta didn’t appreciate it one bit!
But doma, it’s precisely this kind of Letitia that gets under his skin!
I couldn’t care less about the past or the future. All I want is for this child to be bom safe and sound,”
Letitia sald, “Even if I can’t raise han even if he never knows I’m his mother, that’s my one little wish.”
