SNAKE BITE CELINE’s POV | felt Sebastian collapse on the dry leaves next to me. He appeared as though he had just completed a marathon based on the rate at which he was breathing. I rolled over onto my side and turned my back on him as he gazed at me.

This shouldn't happen...

It was a mistake...

| provoked him, and he did it...

And | let him...

| just let him...

| slowly raised myself to my feet and looked around for my underwear. When | finally found it, let out a sigh of relief, and then | quickly picked it up and put it on. | was acutely aware that Sebastian was observingthe entire time, and | was unable to control the amount of redness that appeared on my face.

| left him and started to make my way back to where the yacht was docked, and | nervously chewed on my lower lip. What would Brylee say if she saw me? | knew she would embarrassin front of her friends, in front of Jake.

Suddenly, a loud thunderclap causedto stop in my tracks. When | looked up, | noticed that the sky was much darker than usual.

My heart started to race as | sped up my pace, but suddenly | sensed someone behind me. When | turned around, | saw Sebastian looking atin a very intent manner. | chose to ignore him and carried on walking.

However, just as | was getting close to the coast, the 115 +25 BONUS heavens opened up, and raindrops the size of beans started falling on me. On us.

“Oh my G d!"” | broke into a sprint and made my way toward the beach.

When | saw that the deep blue ocean had becincomparably violent, it caused my eyes to bulge out of their sockets. The waves. were crashing like skind of monstrous creature. It was an incredibly terrifying scene, what with the thunder and lightning.

The fact that the yachts were no longer there, though... was the thing that frightenedthe most. They left me.

They left us...

“Celine!” | heard Sebastian call out. “Let's go this way! Let's find something we can hide from the rain!” | turned my heels and followed him as the rain erupted into a raging deluge and the wind howled like a ravenous beast. The waves were terrifyingly strong.

It was clear tothat Sebastian was not accustomed to being left behind and stranded on a barren island like this one. He had never been placed in such a precarious circumstance before.

| had lived on an island ever since | was a child, so | was prepared f situations like this one. I got firsthand experience with everything, from sowing seeds to gathering crops to angling for fish.

Even though it was pouring hard, | managed to keep my composure and realized that | had to find a safe spot to hide. Otherwise, once it was completely dark, countless dangers would be lurking on the island.

My shoes were quickly covered in a thick layer of sand, and the odor that permeated the air was difficult to describe, which made it difficult forto breathe. Sebastian turned around to check on me, and he had this frown on his face, which indicated that he was clearly 2/5 +25 BONUS aggravated by the situation that we are in right now.

| paid him no attention as | brushed away the thick branches with one hand and peered around, searching for a location where | might escape the rain. My vision grew increasingly distorted, though, as the rain becsteadily harder.

As soon as | wiped the rain from my eyes, | noticed a massive boulder in the distance. | was about to take a step toward the stone ledge when Sebastian cup and started taking long strides until he was in front of me. At that point, he extended his hand and gripped my nape, drawinginto his arms.

“Uh... what are you doing?” | tried to pull away from him, but he was stronger than me, and his embrace was squeezing the hell out of me.” ‘Sebastian! What the-" “Don’t make a move!” he exclaimed, his voice was h oa rse above my head.

“What are you doing? Letgo!” | looked up to see his eyes looking at something behind me. | frowned and followed his gaze and my eyes widened when | saw a snake that was coiled around the nch that | had just pushed away. My body began to shake when | its tail slowly moved into a tighter position, indicating that it was ready to attack.

“Stand still!” Sebastian groaned, gritting his teeth, and | immediately wrapped my arms around him, buried my face down in his chest and pressing my eyes tight as | did so.

| felt his arms wrap aroundas well, before he lifted his foot to kick the branch away, and as | looked back, | saw the snake drop on the ground and started to slither away.

| had to catch my breath for a second. | didn’t have a problem with either heaven or hell, but | had a severe phobia of snakes.

+25 BONUS When | was still a kid, | used to dig up sweet potatoes and other kinds of crops in the ground with my mom, and one time... when | was helping her, | got bitten by a snake.

At that moment, I'd been really afraid to the point that | felt like | didn’t have an inch of life left in me. Ever since that time, I've had an intense phobia of reptiles, particularly snakes.

Sebastian released his hold on me, but | didn’t move because | was too terrified to do so. | was standing there...

numb yet shaking, with my arms still wrapped around Sebastian's torso.

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked with a troubled tone in his voice.

| didn’t respond, and when he felt that | was shaking uncontrollably, | heard him let out a sigh and hugbefore he liftedup from the ground and carriedbridal style. There's nothing more forto do than bury my face in his chest.

Sebastian, too, saw the enormous boulder, and when he got there, he discovered a little cave. It wasn’t very big, and once you got inside, you'd find scharred branches and a pile of dust. Clearly, somebody had been in this place before.

Sebastian placedin a strategic position atop a large stone an proceeded to shove the branches in the middle of the cave. He used a lighter to ignite them, and soon after, we could hear crac kling sounds. coming from the cave and the heat from the fire began to warm us up.

| trembled so much that | could barely utter the words “thank you...” and it took a lot of work forto even speak normally.

Sebastian, however, paid little attention to what | had to say; instead, he dipped his head and rubbed the back of his palm on his thigh while knitting his eyebrows. His face was pale.

| held my breath and frowned as | walked over to check his hand. “W- 4/5 ge +25 BONUS what's happening to you?” He slowly relaxed his brows, but the hand that had been grasping the other was now clenched so tightly that | could almost feel his blood flow stopped.

“Hey!” | got down on my knees and grabbed his hand, only to discover that it had two distinct puncture wounds on it. Oh my G od! It's a snake bite! | looked up at him, terrified. | will never ever forget what a snake bite looked like.
