Chapter 181 A Battle for Priceless Treasures
Lin Fan perused various items on the carpet, about 50 items of diverse shapes caught his attention.
He shut his eyes and reopened them, revealing the transformation of his normal vision into the extraordinary ability of his golden eyes.
Amidst the items, an Ashura statue with six arms, three heads, and a substantial size captivated his interest. A distinct golden aura enveloped it, more with golden hue than some items he had come across a few days earlier.
A faint smile adorned his face; the statue was undoubtedly a high-level treasure!
His gaze then shifted to the seller, a slender man in his fifties. "How much for that statue?" he inquired, pointing to the item.
The seller directed his gaze to the statue. "You want that?" he sought confirmation.
"Yes, state the price," Lin Fan nodded eagerly.
"You can have it for one million yuan," he declared.
"What? One million yuan? Boss, are you serious? Why so expensive?" Lin Fan questioned.
"Sigh, this is why young people don't understand history... That statue is an artifact from the Xia Dynasty, over 7000 years old," the seller explained.
"Boss, are you trying to trick me? It doesn't even look like an artifact. It looks like you found it in a sewer," Lin Fan retorted.
"Do you want to make an offer then?" The seller asked.
"I'll give you 50,000 yuan," Lin Fan responded.
"What? Come on, are you trying to rob me? Go find another seller!" the seller countered.
"Alright, alright, how about 100,000 yuan?" Lin Fan proposed.

"150,000?"
"700,000."
"200,000?"
"699,999."
"300,000?"
Lin Fan and the seller engaged in fervent negotiation.
"..."
"My final price is 500,000 yuan, take it or leave it!" the seller asserted.
Hearing this, Lin Fan sighed. Although he could afford it, he still felt reluctant. 500,000 yuan was a lot of money.
"Sigh, fine, I'll buy it," he conceded.
A triumphant smile adorned the seller's face. "Please pay; I accept both cash and cashless," he offered.
Lin Fan nodded. Just as he was about to retrieve the ATM card provided by Jun Li, an abrupt voice interjected. "I want that statue for 1 million yuan."
Both the seller and Lin Fan were visibly startled. They swiftly turned their gaze to the source of the sound, revealing a young man standing there—none other than Long Tian.
A smirk played on Lin Fan's lips, "Unfortunately, my friend, I snagged it first," he remarked.
"Oh, let's see how the seller responds," Long Tian quipped.
Their collective attention shifted to the seller.
"Cough, one million yuan, huh? Are you serious?" the seller inquired.
"Of course," Long Tian affirmed, a smile gracing his face.
"Then, I'll sell it to you," the seller responded, his smile widening.
As Long Tian prepared to reply, Lin Fan interjected, "Hey, why are you being unfair, old man? You already made a deal with me!"
"Well, it's one million yuan; who would refuse?" the seller retorted, his smile persistent.
Lin Fan's expression darkened. He rose to his feet, scrutinizing Long Tian more intently. That face, he felt a sense of familiarity, but it eluded him.
"Hey, my friend, please give me that statue. As a token of gratitude, you'll gain my friendship," Lin Fan appealed.
Long Tian rubbed his chin, then his eyes fixated on the jade pendant around Lin Fan's neck.
A sly smile formed on his face—a protagonist with a Jade, that was clearly no ordinary item. "If you give me that Jade pendant, I'll relinquish the statue," he proposed.
Lin Fan hastily examined his necklace, which was a gift from Jun Li earlier. "What? No way, I won't give this to you!" he rebuffed.
"Then, I'll still buy the statue," Long Tian asserted, his smirk unwavering.
Lin Fan's face was drenched in sweat; he cannot lose the statue.
"Oh, come on, my friend, you won't regret owing me a favor," he said.
""Haven't I already said it? I'll give up the statue if you give me that jade necklace," Long Tian shot back, arms crossed.
Hearing this, Lin Fan's countenance darkened further; it was evident the man before him wouldn't yield.

"Are you trying to intimidate me?" Long Tian retorted with a cold edge, his gaze exuding intimidation.
Lin Fan felt beads of sweat forming again. Quickly, he raised both hands. "Alright, alright, forgive me. I was just joking earlier. But please, my friend, I will consider us as brothers if you let go of the statue," he pleaded.
"Get the fuck out of here," Long Tian spat.
Lin Fan completely ran out of strategies to convince Long Tian. It seemed all his efforts were in vain.
Turning to the seller, he sighed, "Alright, one million yuan and 50,000. I'll buy the statue," he conceded.
Before the seller could respond, Long Tian seized the moment, "Then I'll throw in an extra one million and five hundred thousand."
Both the seller and Lin Fan were taken aback. The seller, however, wore an unabashedly delighted expression.
"Absolutely! Opting for a cashless transaction? Totally doable!" he promptly agreed.
On the flip side, Lin Fan was in a panic. Losing that statue was out of the question; it held immense significance for him.
"Hey, old man, why the unfair play? We sealed the deal from the get-go," he protested.
"Get lost, kid. In the realm of sales, the seller is king," the seller retorted.
"Damn you, old man!" Lin Fan shot back.
The seller shook his head dismissively. "Ignore the kid. Let's proceed to the payment," he declared.
Long Tian grinned and then whipped out his ATM card.
In the end, he successfully snagged the statue for 1.5 million yuan, leaving Lin Fan to watch with a palpable sense of unwilling.
As Long Tian received the statue after making the payment, his gaze shifted towards Lin Fan.
"Well, my friend, seems like life's lessons are more expensive than a statue, maybe next time you'll learn to play the game a bit wiser," he said with a smirk, then promptly walked away, leaving Lin Fan behind.
Watching Long Tian depart, Lin Fan's expression became a mix of gloom and cold as he clenched his fist.
"You'll regret messing with me, no matter who you are!" he declared icily.
