Chapter 928

Both Anthony and Violet were utterly charmed by Aster.

Anthony couldn’t wait to take Aster from Violet.

He bounced Aster around happily, saying, “What a good boy!

The scene of the grandparents and grandson enjoying themselves together was heartwarming.

But Dylan’s focus wasn’t on that He asked, “Violet, where’s Kevan?”

She gestured upstairs and replied. “He said his clothes got dirty, so he went upstairs to take a shower and change.

You know his cleanliness habits.”

Kevan’s penchant for cleanliness was no secret in the family.

“Oh.” Dylan didn’t inquire further.

“Aster, would you like some snacks? I made cinnamon rolls and cream puffs. Even your mom says they’re

delicious!” She held Aster’s hands, trying to win him over.

“Alter snacks, how about going for a stroll in the yard with me? IL show you the crickets I’m raising. It’s a lot of fun

Dylan sat on the couch.

He felt somewhat out of place amidst the current atmosphere.

However, he couldn’t help but feel moved by the fact that Kevan’s parents treated Aster like a cherished grandson;

they still were unaware of Aster being Kevan’s biological son.

Anthony never seemed this welcoming back when facing Bethany.

“Dylan, you just sit here for a while, okay? Violet led Aster toward the dining room.

Anthony lallowed.

Dylan wasn’t exactly an outsider in the Rogers family. So, he felt more at ease sitting alone than with them.

He browsed his emails on his phone and wailed.

After nearly hall an hour, Kevan finally came downstairs.

As mentioned by Violet, Kevan had taken a shower.

His hair wasn’t completely dry, and it clung together in strands.

He had changed out of his crisp shirt and suit into loose–fitting sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

On his feet were plain cotton slippers, giving him a rather relaxed and homey appearance.

With one hand in his pocket, Kevan strolled casualy over to Dylan and asked, “Where are my parents and Aster?”

“In the dining room.” Dylan replied, glancing in that direction. “They’re enjoying Violet’s cinnamon rolls and cream

putts.”

Kevan had come downstairs later and missed the initial meeting between his parents and Aster.

“Are my parents treating Aster well?” Kevan asked,

“Very. You missed out on how your dad reacted just now. It was eye–opening.” Dylan emphasized the word “very“.

“My dad?”

Kevan was quite surprised. He had expected his mom to be kind to Aster.

But he hadn’t anticipated the same from his dad; his dad had always been reserved.

“Now, you’re just a step away from marrying Larissa Into the family. Has she sollened up? Dylan leased hall–

situation at Soaring Corporation, we’ll start planning the wedding.”

“That’s pretty soon, isn’t it? Dylan was well aware of Soaring Corporation’s current predicament.

“I heard they recently laid off a significant number of employees.

Corporation once our shareholding surpasses his?

“Do you have that much money to burn? Kevan coolly glanced at him. “If you’ve got that kind of cash, why not

invest it elsewhere?”

Dylan frowned. “Come on, you

Soaring Corporation is still a part of the Rogers family’s legacy, isn’t it? Don’t you care at all? Aren’t you

afraid that Old Mr. Rogers might be watching from the great beyond?”

Kevan sneered and said, “Soaring Corporation’s current state is precisely the result of him watching from the great

beyond.”

So, naturally, he had to add more fuel to the fire and fulfill his grandfather’s wishes.

“The prosecutor’s investigation into Soaring Corporation’s internal corporate crimes is nearly complete. When the

time comes, none of those people will escape,” Kevan stated confidently.

“I’ve also handed over evidence of Cody hiring someone to kill me and smuggling drugs from Aldovia to the police.

“When you add up all these charges, he won’t be seeing the outside of a prison for the rest of his life.”

He had let Cody go on for so long.

Not just to subject him to immense pressure and gradually break him mentally.

But most importantly, to bring final closure.

He wanted to prevent any chance of Cody coming out of prison several years later and affecting their lives.
