Chapter 91 Cross The Line
Amanda was anxiously waiting for updates about Corynn, but strangely, her contact had remained silent.
She wasn’t overly concerned, assuming it was better to err on the side of caution.
While watching a in bed, a knock on the door startled her. Initially, she hesitated, but upon recognizing
Elliot's voice, she quickly responded.
“Amanda, it's me.”
At the sound of his voice, Amanda rushed to the door, opening it with a smile. “Elliot, what brings you here?” “|
need to discuss something with you. Is now a good time?” Elliot asked, his expression unreadable. Amanda
opened the door wider and reached out for Elliot's hand, but he subtly avoided her touch. She looked at him, her
expression turning sour. “What do you want to talk about?”
Elliot was direct. “Did you drug Corynn yesterday?”

The men involved had no aphrodisiacs on them, and their statements cleared them of administering any drugs
to Corynn.
Given that Amanda had arranged to take Corynn to the suite, suspicion fell heavily on her.
At the mention of Corynn’s name, Amanda's expression darkened. “Corynn, Corynn. Is she all you think about?”
“And you arranged for those men to be in Corynn’s room, didn’t you?” Elliot's tone sharpened.
Seeing the anger in Elliot's eyes, Amanda realized he was aware of her actions.
Regardless of his knowledge, she refused to confess.
“No!” She denied it immediately.
Elliot just stared at her, his gaze piercing, as if seeing through her.
Amanda shifted her gaze away, uncomfortable under his scrutiny.
“You booked Corynn’s room. How else would those men know to go there? And the journalists this morning- don’t
you think you appear suspicious?” Elliot's voice was tinged with disappointment.
Amanda’s voice took on a defensive edge. “I told you it wasn’t me. Lillian was there with me, too. Why don’t you
suspect her?”

“She has no motive,” Elliot countered calmly.
Frustration boiling over, Amanda shoved Elliot forcefully. “You think | don’t deserve your trust?”
Elliot’s gaze hardened. “You crossed the line.”
Amanda laughed bitterly, her voice rising in disbelief. “Crossed the line? You say | crossed the line?”

She pointed at herself, her laughter tinged with hysteria, then snapped, “What about you? You're engaged to me
but think about Corynn every single day!”
“You agreed to cancel the engagement yesterday,” Elliot reminded her flatly.
“Elliot, you are the most unreasonable one!” Amanda's eyes welled up with tears of frustration and anger.
“When we got engaged, | made it clear | had no feelings for you. Our engagement was merely a strategic
alliance between our families. If you feel wronged, I'm willing to compensate,” Elliot responded, his voice devoid
of emotion.
However, his tone softened when he mentioned Corynn. “Corynn hasn’t wronged you. | was the one who pursued
her, and | took advantage of her situation.”
Amanda's tears blurred her vision. Her initial joy at seeing Elliot had vanished, leaving behind only heartache
and anger.
“Is this the difference between love and indifference?” she wondered aloud, the answer painfully clear. “Her
being with you is an affront to me!” Amanda cried out, her voice echoing with hurt.
