Chapter 925
The words were so harsh that Celine gasped. After all, Margaret was a mother herself.
However, what she said was true. The only reason women like these married into affluent families was for wealth and power. For this reason,
Margaret told Lily that she would never have any of that, even if she had a child.
If they were to get a divorce one day, Lily would be left with nothing. This was all too shocking for Celine. If her mother-in-law were to say that
to her back then, she would definitely not be able to bear it.
Sure enough, Lily fell silent. Margaret was secretly a little proud, thinking that Lily must have been so shaken that she needed time to digest
what she had heard.
However, the look in Lily’s eyes was strange.
Before Margaret could bask in her victory any longer, Lily spoke. "Grandma, it must have been hard on

Hearing this, both Margaret and Celine were puzzled. Was this girl crazy? Could she have decided to
try and grovel up to Margaret so she would let her go?
"It turns out that you’re still just a tool after all these years in the Russell family. At this age, you still
have nothing. It must be tough for you. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to do it. Thankfully, I have my
own business, so I won't end up with nothing," Lily said sadly as she looked at Margaret
sympathetically.
Margaret was speechless! Meanwhile, Celine was still trying to grasp what Lily was saying.
'It's obvious that Mom is talking about her. Why did she turn it around instead? Does she not
understand what Mom is saying?!'
However, Margaret was quick to pick up what she meant. She knew that Lily was using Margaret's own
words against her.
Margaret had said that the Russells do not prioritize their daughters-in-law, even after giving birth to a
child. Therefore, Lily was now insinuating that Margaret was still a nobody even after staying in the
Russell Estate for so long. She had nothing because even the children she had given birth to weren't
hers.
At this point, Margaret was shaking with anger. "Your tongue is so sharp!"
"What do you mean, Grandma? You're the one who said it. Did I say something wrong?" Lily blinked
innocently.
Margaret could not retaliate. She could not agree with what Lily said because that meant that she was
qualified to have shares of the family property. In Margaret's head, this would make Lily even more
arrogant than she was now.

"Okay!" Lily agreed readily, as if she had been waiting to hear this.
Now, Margaret was even angrier.
"If that's the case, is there still anything I can help you with, old lady? Otherwise, I won't dilly-dally here any longer!" Upon saying this, Lily
stood up and was prepared to go upstairs.
Celine saw how arrogant Lily was when she was about to leave, and Celine's anger got the best of her. Turning around, her eyes landed on
the cup of hot water on the table.
Lily had left it there because it was too hot, and she hadn't touched it at all. An evil look flashed across Celine's face as she lunged toward
the glass and splashed it on Lily. "You b*tch!"
Lily stood still and turned her head instinctively to the sound, right in the direction for the hot water to splash all over her face.
