After Eisen, Xenia, and Jyuuk had finished the work with the fields properly, the old man got started on creating a large amount of different material-seeds. This was the perfect place, really. It was out in the middle of nowhere, and there was not the slightest connection to Eisen to be found anywhere. And it’s not like Eisen necessarily cared too much for the seeds too much, so even if anyone found this place, it wouldn’t be too big of an issue should they be somehow ’stolen’. This was all really just so that Eisen could properly rank up his ’Material Growth’ Skill to rank 4. It was in the upper Rank 2 range right now, since not too many of the high-tier seeds that Eisen actually planted were actually ’ready to go’.
Most of the flowers didn’t bloom yet, the trees didn’t bear any fruit yet, and the vegetables weren’t ready for harvest. Of course, there were a few exceptions in the range of crystals, but that was something to be expected. Crystals were always easy to use with any sort of magic skill, after all.
But as they grew quickly, they also didn’t really give Eisen that much proficiency for his skill, so he now had to plant other things. Seeds that were made with something like steel, gold, maybe even some magic metals like mythril.
Then, Eisen also figured he could try and plant something with some mana again. The tree that Eisen made like that before was actually coming along great, and as far as he could tell, it did passively increase his Magic Craftsmanship proficiency. And since it was rather close to Rank 4, it shouldn’t hurt to boost it like this as well.
Other than that, Eisen of course also needed to level up another of his draconic gifts as well. He would use his extraction skill when he went mining to properly split everything up and get that done there, and his truth-seeing eyes were already at Rank 4 since long ago. The gift from Bol was the size-change ability that became part of his giant racial skill, and since that became Rank 5 already, he figured that the condition for that gift had been met by now as well.
So, Eisen figured he got all that going pretty well. Eisen quickly finished up the preparation for all the seeds, and then hand-planted them in the ground. For some of them, just to experiment with it, Eisen actually used some of Jyuuk’s special seeds that were specially-bred to be changed in either size, quality, or effect. He was pretty curious about how it would turn out, really.
And then, in the center of the field, Eisen chose to plant a couple of trees, the seeds of which were created using different types of mana just to play around with that as well.
After all of that was done, Eisen chose to get started with some other work for now as well, and as such swiftly made his way into the dungeon. Since they were now perfectly mobile with the dungeon gate set into the wood-giant’s body, everyone could relax inside of the dungeon and Eisen could inspect the area around the wood-giant using the data-link to its eyes.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBasically, it was another version of the camera-golems that Eisen made with the screens, and he made a rather large screen for this dungeon so that he could properly see everything even when walking around without needing to hold it.
Because what Eisen was doing now was actually properly preparing the materials that he had just farmed from the fields while making the wood-giant walk toward the area with the mines that Komer told him about. Since they actually didn’t have much to do, and Jyuuk could finish his next task from the puzzle-box wherever he was and Xenia’s level-up quest to get to level 300 was also something she could work on no matter where, the two of them chose to tag along with Eisen for a while.
And the old man didn’t really mind, it was nice having the two of them around. Although, technically, they did stay in the same house currently, so it was a bit inaccurate to act like they never saw each other otherwise.
Eisen was sitting in a part of the dungeon and mainly got started properly sorting out the grains from the barley, wheat, or rye so that he could later grind them down into flour or just use them whole like that.
Then Eisen of course also just properly cleaned the vegetables like carrots, onions and potatos, since they still had a little bit of dirt stuck on them, and then more efficiently bundled the different stems from the grain-based plants up. Basically, Eisen just tried his best to get everything ready to be used for cooking.
Other than that, Eisen just tried to actually come up with good uses for all of these ingredients. Of course, he would end up making proper dishes for the giants in the giant-country, and with the help of Jyuuk’s element it was quite easily assured that they would actually last that long, but Eisen didn’t necessarily want to wait until they got to the giant country.
For one, he had to test out if everything actually tasted good enough for starters. And other than that, it was probably also a good idea to prepare a bunch of food for the different islands if they were to be short on it. The islands already controlled by Eisen and the Core Guardians were going to be fine, since they were being perfectly governed by exactly those Town Core Guardians.
But then again, there were places that maybe weren’t so perfectly off, and since Eisen should make sure to grow relations with the towns and villages on the other islands even before they could properly govern them. There would probably still be a limit on how many towns they could take over at once even if they did become a country, and since there were dozens of islands, Eisen wasn’t sure how long it would take to get all the islands to officially be part of his country.
And he really didn’t want any other player to just steal those towns away from him. Although, he should be able to ’raid’ that town then and get control over it like that, so it probably wouldn’t actually be too bad.
So if some of the islands should be in bad condition, Eisen would be able to try his best to support them with at least food and protection if he could properly turn all of these things into proper food.
Of course it wasn’t anything like meat, but there were surely going to be enough monsters around to take care of that issue.
Either way, for now, Eisen just worked on cleaning up all of these ingredients and sorted them properly. At some point a couple of hours later, it seemed like they finally got to the quarry that Brody had already subjugated, before Komer properly had it filed to be more of land belonging to ’Starlight’.
Since it was a bit risky to make the wood-giant walk through this place with huge holes in the ground that led down more than a hundred meters or so. Sure, the wood-giant would probably survive the fall without issues, but Eisen didn’t want to risk anything.
And since there would probably be some more monsters left here as well, Eisen thought that might be a good enough reason to head outside and look out for anything that might bring them trouble.
Although, to Eisen’s surprise... there was nothing here. Sure, there were things like snakes and bugs, and even some smaller animals or rank 1 monsters based off those small animals, but nothing that was really dangerous in the slightest.
Then, in the distance, the old man spotted something after all. It was a group of three people running around the deepest layer of the quarry while practically slaughtering the monsters that made this their place their home before.
With a slight sigh, Eisen activated his draconic demon transformation and increased his size to the max, trying to fly around while properly leading the wood-giant down to the bottom of the quarry.
When Eisen could be sure that it had proper footing, the old man flew over toward where the Demon-Orc Halfling and his two companions, another demon and a dryad, were currently taking care of a half-dead monster.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm\"Hey there, you three. Need any help?\" Eisen asked them with a smirk on his face as he squatted down behind the rock-based monster, and Brody just laughed and immediately shook his head.
\"Nah man, we’re good. Just cleanin’ up a bit. This area’s been basically cleared of monsters by now.\" Brody explained quickly as he swung the warhammer in his hand down toward the monster that was basically stunned by fear because of Eisen’s mere presence, and the old man lightly smiled in response.
\"Got it. Then... That area over there, is it safe?\" Eisen asked, pointing over to a part of the quarry that seemed to have a particularly high amount of different types of rock and minerals in the ground, and the Demon-Orc thought about it for a bit and shrugged.
\"Should be, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Oh, by the way... That’s the giant-ass golem you mentioned before?\" Brody asked with an impressed expression as he stared at the wood-giant that was currently letting Jyuuk and Xenia out of the dungeon, and the old man immediately nodded his head.
\"Yeah, it is. Pretty cool, huh?\"
\"Pretty cool? It’s actually fucking dope. Hey, do you think I-\"
\"Please don’t try to fight it, I’m pretty sure you can break it easily.\" Eisen pointed out, \"And it’s an ego-golem, so I would prefer it if you didn’t make it hate you right off the bat.\"
\"Fair enough. But it’s for sure gonna be able to help us out in the giant country. Especially with that sword, not gonna lie.\"
\"What, are you starting to get jealous of fighters like Kiron who use giant weapons?\" Eisen asked with a smirk, and Brody lightly shrugged.
\"Can you blame me? It does look pretty cool sometimes. I’m more used to this kinda stuff though, so I’ll stick to regular weapons for now. That might change though, I dunno.\"
\"Yeah, I’m pretty sure you know whether it’s going to change or not.\" Xenia intervened as she got close enough to listen in to what Brody and Eisen were saying, and Brody just slightly shrugged, \"As I said, can you blame me? I at least want to try it out sometime, see how it feels, ya know?\" Brody replied with a light smile.
