Winnie couldn't help but chuckle when she heard that. “Those who know nothing fear nothing. I

guest room last night otherwise!” Winnie replied while unbuttoning liis shirt.
She was about to leave after undoing the last button of his shirt, but Xavier pulled her into liis aims.
“What are you doing? I don't need a shower!” Winnie exclaimed after giving him a kiss.
She hadn't taken a shower with him ever since the red marks appeared on her tummy.
“Then you don't have to take a shower.” Xavier lowered liis gaze. “I actually went outside for a smoke
that night.”

“Did I wake you up by making too much noise when I came back?” Xavier asked with a frown.
“No.” Winnie gently caressed liis cheek as she explained. “I was never asleep to begin with. I
deliberately kept quiet when you called out to me that night. Xavier, I know it's hard for you to be with
me, so I wanted you to go outside and get some fresh air too. I've prepared myself for the worst. When
will you be able to do the same?”
Xavier fell silent for a brief moment before asking. “Did my emotions affect you?”
“No. Didn't you see how well I handled that situation earlier? If anyone else dares set their sights on
you, I'll make sure to kick them out of Avenport!”
Xavier gave Winnie a quick peck on the lips. “Yes, I have seen what you can do, my lady of the house.”
“However, I don't want such tilings to happen again. Pull yourself together, will you? Otherwise, people
are going to think our relationship is falling apart,” Winnie reminded him.
“That's impossible!” Xavier replied while kissing her passionately. “Unless I die.”
Meanwhile, Abigail was packing her belongings in her room while two other housekeepers and security
guards watched on from the side.
A middle-aged woman would follow her around wherever she went.
“What are you looking at? You think I'd steal any of tliis stuff? I wouldn't want this even if you guys gave
them to me for free!”
The middle-aged woman rolled her eyes at her. “You never know what a person with questionable
moral values would do. Now, stop wasting my time and get tliis over with.”
“You're the one with questionable moral values!” Abigail snapped back at her before packing her stuff in
the bathroom.
Not wanting to see that middle-aged woman's face. Abigail closed the bathroom door and locked it.
The middle-aged woman was tasked with keeping an eye on Abigail, so she quickly knocked on the
bathroom door when she saw that it was locked. “Open the door! You'd better not try anything funny in
there!”
“Stop knocking, will you? I just need to use the bathroom!” Abigail retorted impatiently.
“You can use the one back at your house! Now, pack your stuff quickly and leave, you shameless
woman!”
“Who are you calling shameless?”
“You, obviously!”
The two soon ended up in a fierce argument which escalated into a fight.
As Abigail was up against a few people at once, the security guards were able to subdue her with ease
and throw her out of the house.
All the housekeepers in the mansion saw the nasty state she was in, so they knew she must have done
something horrible.
Feeling humiliated by the way she was thrown out, Abigail swore to return and teach them all a lesson
someday in the future.
The more she thought about her predicament, the angrier she got. Eventually, she turned around and
shouted in the direction of the mansion, “Fairchild, Garland, and all you lapdogs of the Fairchild family!
One day. I will return and get my revenge! Those of you who mocked me today shall apologize to me!”
Those words had barely left her mouth when a car pulled up next to her.
A man with a face mask and hat on stuck his head out the car window and said in a hoarse voice. “Get
in the car.” He sounded as though he had suffered a throat injury.
Abigail stared at him and asked, “Why would I do that? I don't even know you!”
“You'll get to know me after you get in the car. I heard what you were shouting about, and I think we'll
make very good allies,” the man said.
“What do you mean?”

Abigail's eyes lit up when she heard that. “You have a grudge against them?”
“Why don't you get in the car so we can discuss tliis further?”
“Fine. I don't feel like walking anyway!” Abigail said as she got into the passenger seat.
After fastening her seat belt, she glared at the mysterious man next to her and asked. “Mind taking off
your hat and face mask? You talked about forming an alliance with me, but I don't even know what you
look like.”
The man looked at Abigail as he replied. "Be patient. Now isn't the right time to reveal my face to you. I
don't want to scare you off so soon.”
“Scare me off? Do you have a very ugly face or something?” Abigail asked while stealing a glance at
him.
The man nanowed liis eyes. “I looked all right before my face was disfigured in a fire.”
Abigail quickly retracted her gaze after hearing that. “Oh, I see... In that case, you can keep your face
mask on.”
Not wanting to affect Winnie with liis bad mood. Xavier quickly calmed himself down and sent Winnie to
Sebastian's place after breakfast.
It was autumn at the time, so the leaves on the trees outside had changed colors.
Instead of trying to avoid talking about the scenery, he played the role of her eyes and described what
he saw along the way.
After dropping Winnie off at Sebastian's place. Xavier stationed liis bodyguards there and headed
straight for Fairchild Corporation.
Sebastian felt his knowledge and experience were insufficient after he took Winnie's pulse. He then
offered to take her to another traditional medicine practitioner.
Winnie accepted liis offer without any hesitation, and the two left the Xander residence shortly after.
