Loving Mom 220
Chapter 220
Uriah looked at Carter with a cryptic smile. “Of course. You're here to get medicine for that girl, aren't you?”
Nate blinked in confusion. “Didn’t you say you couldn't tell what was wrong with Kelly?”
“I can’t see what's wrong with her,” Uriah replied, tone easy. “I guessed it.”
Nate was speechless. Damn this old man-his mouth is as vicious as Sharon's.
Carter had already heard from Nate that this old man had a strange temperament, so he wasn’t bothered by the
sarcasm. He simply looked into Uriah’s eyes and asked, “Then, how much tcan you give her?”
Uriah glanced at Kelly again.
That murky gaze of his, though aged, was as sharp and penetrating as a hawk’s. Kelly felt her whole body tense
involuntarily, a chill creeping down her spine-as if he had seen right through her.
He quickly looked away and declared with calm certainty, “I can cure her.”
Carter and Nate both froze.
This wasn’t just sordinary illness. They had scoured the globe, consulting every renowned doctor they could
find. Not a single one had cup with a solution.

And now this old man dared to say he could cure a terminal illness?
Was it genuine confidence, or sheer arrogance?
Carter's gaze grew colder. “You haven't even checked her, haven't read her medical reports—and you say you
can cure her?”
Uriah didn’t flinch. “Why else do you think they calla miracle doctor?”
Carter stared at him without blinking. “Are you sure?”
Nate glared at the old man, his voice laced with threat. “If you're lying, we won't just refuse to pay you, we'll
make sure your reputation is ruined.”
Uriah turned to him. “Then tell me-was | wrong about your symptoms?”
Nate fell silent.
Uriah gave a slight shrug, the air of a recluse untouched by worldly judgment. “Anyone who comes toshould
know-I don’t always take money. For you two, | won't charge a cent.”
Nate frowned. “If you're not taking money, then what do you want?”
A knowing smile crept across Uriah’s face. “I want...”
Sharon hadn't been able to reach Carter by phone, but not long after, she got a call from Uriah instead.
“Kid,” he said, “the clinic's a bit hectic lately. We're short-staffed. If you're free tomorrow, chelp out.”
Sharon hesitated a few seconds before answering.
Uriah sounded a little displeased. “What? Now that you don’t need my medicine, | can’t count on you anymore?”

“No, no,” Sharon said quickly. “I mentioned last time, I'm taking care of a kid. It's the school holidays this week,
and his father’s on a long business trip-he won't be back for a while.”
Uriah’s tone softened. “That the skid who wanted to perform with you?”
“Yes,” she replied.
“Then bring him along.
Sharon agreed immediately. “Alright. I'll cby tomorrow.”
It wasn’t like Uriah to call her out of the blue and ask for help. He must really be swamped.
That evening, when Sharon told Matty about it, the boy was overjoyed.
“You mean the old doctor who taught you how to make medicinal meals? | want to learn from him too! That way,
when you get sick, | can make medicinal meals for you!”
Sharon reminded him gently, “Matty, we're going to help out, not to play. Helping out is hard work.”
Matty’s eyes sparkled. “As long as | get to be with you, | don’t mind working hard at all!”
