Chapter 1646:
Ellis’s fingers brushed along her waist, his touch gentle. “Just for a bit.”
“My back’s sore,” Freya mumbled.
“No worries,” he said, his voice smooth as honey. “You can just relax.”
Freya wanted to protest, but his charm was hard to resist, pulling her in like a warm tide.
Meanwhile, after the call, Nina turned to Kristian. “We're heading back the day after tomorrow,” she said brightly.
Kristian’s face softened. “If you want to study in Jeucwell, | can make it work.” His offer was genuine, his eyes
kind. “I'll talk to your parents.”
Nina shook her head. “No need. Mom's right—I shouldn't get in the way of you finding happiness.”
“You wouldn't be in the way,” Kristian said with a chuckle. “A sweet kid like you might even helpout.”

“Mind a quick chat?” Kristian asked, his voice gentle as he studied Jesse’s face, so much like Freya's.
Jesse leaned against the headboard. “What’s on your mind?”
“Nina could get top-notch schooling here,” Kristian said slowly. “It wouldn't hold her back. If you're up for it, you
could stay too.”
“Our home's in Alerith,” Jesse said simply.
He knew Kristian could offer great schools and a caring environment, but hwas where their parents were.
“I'd bring you back for holidays,” Kristian added, hoping to sway him.
Jesse didn’t mince words. “I know what you're up to. But Nina and | are going back to Alerith.”
Kristian held his gaze, emotions swirling. After a pause, he asked, “No chance to change your mind?”
“Nope,” Jesse said firmly.
Kristian’s eyes flickered with feeling.
Jesse spoke up again. “If you have your kid someday, Nina might visit more.”
Kristian stood, ready to leave. “I'll talk to Nina. Sleep well.”
“Wait,” Jesse called out.
Kristian turned. “What's up?”
