Chapter 1500:
Instead, the man before her was tall, fit, with sharp features and cold, commanding eyes.
Even dressed casually, he had the kind of presence that dominated a room.
Melvins gaze swept past her, landing squarely on Turner.
“What are you doing here?” Turner didn’t waste time.
“This is Jayda. Watson's daughter. | brought her here for you. Forget about work. Take stoff. Chome
and get married.”
Melvin almost laughed at the absurdity. Turner's stubbornness was legendary. Once he locked in on something,
logic had no chance.
“What are you standing around for? Go get tickets. Let's go home,” Turner snapped again.
Melvin didn’t flinch. His tone was like ice. “I'm not going. | have a girlfriend. I'm not marrying this woman.”
“Say that again.” Turner's temper started to boil over.
Melvin’s voice stayed cool, edged with finality. “I'll repeat it all day. My answer won't change.”
Turner snapped, his hand flying toward Melvin's face.
The force was so strong that there would definitely be a red handprint on Melvin’s cheek if it landed.
“I'm not the boy from twenty years ago.” Melvin caught his wrist mid-air, his grip like iron. “You threwaway.
You don’t get to control my life now.”

Melvin stared him down, silent, before letting go of his wrist.
Turner was stunned. He had never seen this version of his son before.
For a brief moment, hesitation flickered behind his eyes. Maybe even fear. Jayda stepped in quickly, forcing a
smile. “No need to fight. We haven't eaten all day. Why don’t we sit down somewhere and talk over a meal?”
Melvin didn’t reply, but he turned, leading the way.

By that tof day, most places were closed for their break.
Melvin drove them to one of the few restaurants still open.
When they reached the car, Jayda stepped ahead, hand already on the passenger door.
Seeing a briefcase on the seat, she reached for it, ready to hold it on her lap. “I'll hold this. I don’t mind.”
Melvin’s voice cut in, sharp and cold. “No. Sit in the back.”
Jayda froze, her hand hovering

The tension grew thick.
Turner, oblivious, muttered, “Jayda, just get in the back. I'm starving.”
Jayda smiled awkwardly, lowering her hand. “Alright. Let's go.”
