Chapter 146 To find Renee

The previous night, Vivian had asked Anna about Marcelo’s schedule because she wanted to creturn the

jacket.

Anna had promised to notify her, and this afternoon, she called her and told her that Marcelo was free.

Vivian had found it a little strange, but she didn’t think too much of it.

“Mr. King is usually busy every day. But today, he’s free,” Anna said to her. “In fact, he’s usually very efficient,

something like this? Why would he postpone the morning meetings just for the sake of spending more twith

Renee?

Judging from the tone of Anna’s voice when she said it, it seemed Marcelo had done this a lot.

As Vivian thought of all these, a great sense of crisis rose in her heart until Marcelo’s voice pulled her back to

reality. “Vivian?” When he first heard the knock and the sound of the door getting opened, Marcelo didn’t hear

any voice for quite a while. But when he finally looked up, he saw Vivian standing at the door like someone in a

trance.

“Oh, Marcelo. Um... are you still busy?“Vivian quickly asked as she walked into the office with a smile. She was

trying to hide the fact that she had just been thinking about him.

“What are you doing here?” He wondered aloud as he gestured for her to sit down. Then he went back to

reviewing and approving the documents in front of him.

After finishing with these documents, he would be able to get off work for the day and go see his wife.

He hoped she was in a better mood.

“I brought your jacket, “Vivian explained and put a big paper bag on the table in front of him. “I even took it to

be dry-cleaned.”

When Marcelo heard this, he frowned and said, “But | told you | don’t need it.”

Vivian broke into a smile and said, “Well, | felt you were just being polite to me? Anyway, I've dry-cleaned the

jacket, and now, I'm returning it to you.”

Frankly, her main purpose of coming was not to return the jacket.

This was just an excuse for her to cand see Marcelo.

When he didn’t say anything in response, she added, “Marcelo, another reason | chere today was to find out

when you'll be free. | want to go visit your brother.”

“How about this weekend?”He suggested. He wasn’t free on any weekday.

But just then, there was a knock on the door and Luke walked in.

“Miss Lambert?” he gasped in surprise when he saw Vivian. He never expected that he would see her in

Marcelo’s office.

“Good day, Luke. Long tno see,” Vivian greeted him.

Luke nodded in acknowledgement and turned his attention to Margelo. “Mr. King, the bodyguards said they saw

Miss Curtis in Venus Bar that day. Also, Mrs. King didn’t leave the Hudson's house at the tRocco mentioned.

She left before 7 p.m.” Whenever Marcelo stepped out, he was always accompanied by bodyguards. Even in the

bar, the bodyguards would be scattered in the crowd.

When Anna saw him coming out of the office, she quickly accosted him. “Mr. King, this is the offer letter that Miss

Hudson just returned. She refused Harvillston,” she explained to him as she ran beside his fast moving

wheelchair.

When Marcelo heard what she said, he slowed down and asked in surprise, “Did she cjust now?”

The question was so forceful and unexpected that Anna was almost startled. But she quickly recovered her

composure and nodded. “Y... yes. Yes, she did.”

“Why didn’t she ctodirectly?” Marcelo wondered aloud.

“Um...maybe it was because she saw Miss Lambert coming to see you, so...” Anna suddenly trailed off. Frankly,

she was just guessing. She had no concrete proof that this was the case.

Marcelo took the offer letter from her and went straight to the elevator. As he went, he asked his bodyguards to

find out Renee's location.

Vivian couldn't walk fast in high heels, so by the tshe cout of the office, she only saw the retreating

figure of Marcelo as he entered the elevator.

The only thing she could do was to stand there, looking depressed and sad.
