138 Tournament begins
Cook-a-doddle!
As the roaster in the academy gave it early morning call, a wary feeling emerged on the faces of some of the first-year students.
Time moved quickly, and before any one of them could realize it, one of the most epic activities in the academy was about to begin.
The academy division tournament.
“It’s my time to show the academy what I’m really capable of!”
“I will raise above all, and become the number one student in the division. Master, I won’t disappoint you.”
This wasn’t a battle of the fittest, instead, it was a battle of the strongest. And many students in the academy swore to come out on top.
The day’s activities were however the same protocol for Raphael. He, however, thoroughly checked his gadgets, and once they were no faults in any of them, he laid back with a book in his hand.
A few hours passed since then, the students were waiting for a notification from their wristwatches, and as they received the information, they headed to the venue.

The tournament took place in the seventh block in the academy and, being more specific, it was held in the gladiator stadium.
As students from each division arrived at the stadium, it came as a hit of a surprise to them that the stadium was already crowded and everyone seemed to be waiting for them to arrive.
“Elite division, come this way!”
Leilani pointed her hand at the seats reserved for the first-year elite division student once she saw them arrive at the stadium.
With a nod coming from a few of them, they moved quickly to the area reserved for them.
As Leilani stepped out to address the elite division student, the instructors of the other division did the same. They were all talking to their students.
“I hope there isn’t anyone who has any sort of injury among you?” Leilani asked.
The students glanced at one another after she spoke and then shook their heads.
“Good,” Leilani said with a smile on her face.

Leilani had only just spoken when Lucien appeared beside her. Staring at the students who seating in the right corner of the gladiator stadium, he said.
“You don’t need to win the tournament, you must win it. It’s either number one or nothing!”
Unlike Leilani, who had spoken in a soft and warm tone, Lucien’s voice was cold and detached from emotion.
There seemed to be no difference from animals in his eyes.
“Just relax, once the directors are here, the tournament will begin,” Leilani said.
With a light smile on her face, she walked away, pulling Lucien who had a sneer along with her.
“The whole good cop, bad cop charade,” Bane muttered, shaking his head at the two that just walked past him.
“Clowns!” Bane exclaimed.
Apart from the prestige they won and received from the academy, the major reason why the instructors wanted to be number one in the tournament was because of the grand prize at the end of the tournament.
Some didn’t even consider it to be a grand prize, instead, they considered it to be a life-changing offer.
“This is going to be extreme,” Bane mumbled as he saw the students from other divisions looking towards their seats.
A nod came from Aiden after Bane spoke.
“Thankfully, it’s a tournament, if it were to be a battle royale, these fiends would definitely gang up on us.” Bane said, seeing the cold gaze from the students in the stadium.
“Eh, you, stop staring at me, or else I will come to pluck your eye out.”
Bane wouldn’t be Bane if he didn’t retort to the stares he was getting from the people around him.
And as his earlier words, didn’t seem to have any effect apart from a frown, he stood from his seat and cursed at the person he was infuriated about the most.
“Hey you, quit acting like a fag, it’s not my fault that you joined a shitty division.”
“Fatherfucker!” Bane blurted.
The students from the bandit division hadn’t taken any of the insulting words that were spoken by Bane seriously, but when they heard, that demoralizing words, they flared up.
The eighty-four students from the bandit division stood abruptly from their seats, they glared at Bane with eyes full of killing intent.
However, in front of the furious students, Bane wasn’t worried in the slightest. He sneered and then said.
“What are you so pissed about, aren’t you all fags and sissies. Come on, let’s be honest about this, you also don’t have to be shy, nobody here will judge you.”
“Ain’t I right?” Bane said, turning towards his classmates.
Aiden’s eyes twitched when he saw Bane looking at him.
“Bane, what do you think, you’re doing? What if they come at you, this is going to get really messy.”
Before Bane would respond to Aiden, Raphael who was quiet the entire time spoke.
“No, they won’t.”
“They don’t dare make a move on him, at least not until the tournament is over. It will only get them disqualified, Bane knows this, which is why he’s bothering them.” Raphael said.
When Bane heard Raphael, he gave him a thumbs up and then flashed a light smile at the students who were still glaring at him.
It was evident that they were trying their best not to let those words get to them.
But, whenever they tried to brush it all up, Bane said something hateful again.
“You know what, I apologize, and I also take my words back.” Bane said.
Anyone who knew Bane was certain that there was more to come, and when he spoke again, the bandit division student was unable to control their rage.
“There aren’t fags or sissies among you, but you should ask the species that gave birth to you. I’m sure a faggot or harlot exists within your family.”
The students had however only taken a few steps when they were all pulled back by their instructors.
“Son of a bitch!” One of them exclaimed, glaring at Bane.
Bane pointed his hand at the student who had just spoken, “Don’t you bring my mother into this, it’s not my fault that your mother slept with a dog and gave birth to you.”
“Hahaha!!!!”
Laughter erupted from the people who were in the stadium after Bane spoke.
However, when Bane said those harsh words to the students from the bandit students, even the instructor was furious.
“Bane, that’s enough. Seat!” Leilani appeared in front of Bane, seeing the look on the man’s face.
“As a student from the elite division, we won’t tolerate those sorts of words from you. Now have a seat!”
Even though Leilani appeared to be in contempt with some of the things that were said by Bane, a smile hung on her face as she spoke to him.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe instructor from the bandit division saw the smile on Leilani’s face, and he couldn’t help but clench his hand into a tight fist.
His eyes glowed with battle intent, and he seemed to want to make a move himself when a loud voice rang out.
“Who do the two of you think you’re!”
When that cold voice sounded in the stadium, whether it was the battle intent of the man or the smile that was on Leilani, it vanished immediately.
They stared at the seven figures that just appeared in the stadium, and as they met with their gaze, Leilani and the man lowered their head.
The seven that had just arrived were none other than the directors of the seven divisions.
Wyatt Reynolds, Grayson Forest, Layla Rose, Nicholas Silas, Iris Waldorf, Vermont Lance, and lastly, Kai London.
In the absence of the dean, this seven were the dictators of the academy.
“Settle down!”
The students who had been waiting for a battle to break out between the bandit’s division and the elite division were left disappointed by how the event turned out.
To them, it would certainly be a great occurrence, if a fight were to occur, it would be an automatic disqualification for not only the student but also his or her division.
Leilani returned to her position, and so did the man from the bandit division.
After the directors sat on the seven obsidian thrones in front, Nicholas’s voice rang out.
“I welcome you to the first-year academy tournament.”
Nicholas paused for a few seconds, and said, “It’s a pleasure to see the students in such good shape, and I hope we have many more tournaments like this in the academy.”
“Without wasting much of how time, let’s begin the tournament.”
A second after Nicholas spoke, and a man wearing a black and white stripe shirt with black pants stepped into the stadium.
The man walked towards the selection box that was at the far end of the stadium.
