Chapter 571 – The Crack In The Barrier
Damien didn't mean to eavesdrop, but when he reached right outside the house, he could already hear an intense discussion going on.
He already knew that Irene had a rocky relationship with both her husband and granddaughter. When it came to her husband, she didn't believe him, yet she didn't really abandon him at the same time but instead kept him here safely and even helped prolong his life.
As for Reva, Irene was doing her best to protect her to not make the same mistakes she did when it came to her daughter. However, Reva was cold to Irene for all these years, thinking it was Irene's fault her mother died. But Damien knew that even then, Reva never stopped caring about her grandmother.
He knew Irene made a lot of mistakes, but he was sure that her love for her family was true.
"You are not angry…right, grandmother?" Reva asked in a low voice. She knew that as a princess or even by being the future leader of the Zirians, she broke the conventional norms and rules by giving away her purity without even marrying Damien.
The fact that she even fell in love with someone, not of Zirian blood was a huge matter if the Zirians knew. However, Damien had the blood of a god flowing through his veins now, the very same blood that belonged to the god whom Zirians worshiped blindly.
So she felt there wasn't going to be an issue here.

If you made the decision to give yourself to him, then I am sure you did it with good reason. I will never try to control your life, Reva. I already learned my lesson the hard way. I had already decided to devote every second of my life to protect you two. Otherwise, my daughter's soul wouldn't be happy with me."
"Grandmother…can you tell me more about mother?" Reva asked something which she always wanted to ask.
Elor wistfully smiled and said, "Why not…I am sure you will be surprised to know how your mother was when she was a child…"
Irene and Elor took turns in retelling past events as Reva keenly listened on while Damien also listened to them while sitting right on the roof of the house.
After some time, Irene decided to take a rest again after Elor and Reva insisted. He then saw Reva coming out of the house and raising her head to look at him with a skeptical look, making him smile sheepishly since he knew Reva sensed his presence outside, especially now that they were connected by soul too.
"How long have you been spying on us, Damien?" Reva asked with squinted eyes.
Damien immediately zoomed towards Reva and lifted her up into the air, making her let out a startled cry, "Damien!~"
"What? This is something I have always wanted to do. Besides…you deserve a little punishment for calling out on your man for spying on you," Damien said with a mischievous smile as he flew upwards with Reva in his arms.
Reva didn't really feel scared by the height since she herself was used to flying. However, being carried like this by her loved one made her feel like this was a new experience and, in fact, found it quite enjoyable as she enjoyed the view while hugging his neck.
"Enjoying the fresh cold air?" Damien asked with a smile the higher he flew, making Reva softly nod as she rested her head against his warm and firm chest.
The higher up he went, the more everything down below looked so small and minuscule, to the point he really felt as if he was looking down through the window of a plane.
The air was getting thinner the higher up he went, but for cultivators like him and Reva, it didn't really matter since their source of energy wasn't merely just oxygen.
However, Damien knew that he couldn't fly up as much as he liked because of the barrier that existed around this place. He didn't try to cross the barrier, but he felt there was no need, especially since he felt that the current spot was perfect…almost touching the clouds.
And looking down and around, he couldn't help but feel awed by the beautiful sight, especially when looking down at the beautiful island.
He then cupped one of Reva's cheeks as he leaned his face to kiss her while still standing in the air.
Reva welcomed his kiss happily with closed eyes as she exchanged a warm, loving kiss with him while letting out soft sensual moans from the back of her throat.

Her snowy skin was increasingly becoming red the more Damien played with her body's sensitive regions.
She finally broke the kiss with a red face as she looked at him and said in a shy tone, "You can't keep bullying me like this…"
Damien couldn't help but feel amused by her embarrassed face, "You still haven't gotten used to my naughty hands after everything we did? I remember you moan—"
"No!" Reva immediately sealed his mouth with her hand, feeling abashed, knowing what he was going to say.
She then playfully pushed him off and flew away from him as if trying to invite him in a chase.
"Don't think you can escape from me!" Damien called out with a smirk as he shot forwards through the air, chasing Reva, who was feeling a sense of thrill and excitement being chased by him like this.
At this time, she was able to clear her mind and just focus on enjoying this moment with Damien. For a moment, she was able to feel how it was like to have a happy time, even if it was just playing.
However, since the two were distracted playing mouse and cat, they had no idea they were already flying past the shores of the island and towards the oceans.
Still, unconsciously they knew that the barrier would just send them back even if they happened to touch it.
Reva was softly smiling as she continued to speed forward while Damien was increasingly getting close to her.
But suddenly, Reva unknowingly touched the barrier, and at the same time, a white crack suddenly appeared in thin air as it swallowed Reva, making Damien freeze in mid-air and shout with widened eyes, "Reva!!!"
