open the door to the ward, Eric was staring atintensely.

Eric looked at me, his voice low and deliberate. "Maybe it's because you weren't here, so | couldn't sleep well."
His eyes were full of sincerity, making my heart skip a beat.
When | didn't respond, his gaze shifted to the folder in my hand. He frowned. "What's this? Even if you love your
work, you should rest a little. After everything that happened today, don't put too much pressure on yourself."
| patted my chest reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'm taking a break today. | didn't work."
Eric raised an eyebrow in suspicion. "Then what were you doing for so long? Weren't you working?"
Seeing the concern in his eyes, | hesitated momentarily, then told him everything that had happened tonight.
When | mentioned that | had brought the police and had Jeremiah arrested, Eric's expression turned approving.

unscathed.
Since this was a VIP ward, even the couch was spacious and soft enough. Before
| knew it, | fell asleep.
After waking up the next morning, | went out to buy breakfast for Eric. When | returned, the ward was filled with
noise.
| hurriedly pushed open the door. Levi turned around in surprise and immediately cover upon seeing me. He
lookedup and down, his face full of concern. "Jane, are you okay?"
The situation had unfolded so suddenly yesterday that | hadn't had the chance to
tell Levi, and | hadn't expected him to actually trackdown.

look for you."
