Chapter 153 Leave This toThe moment Jeremiah finished speaking, I caught a fleeting smirk of triumph on Elsa's face.

The man walked pastand led Elsa away.

Elsa turned her face towardas she passed, parting her lips ever so slightly.

"I win." She mouthed the words soundlessly, her eyes filled with smug satisfaction.

I remained calm, watching as she disappeared with Jeremiah and Jack. Not once did I flinch or struggle.

The man returned to my side only when the three of them were gone.

He studiedwith an icy gaze. "If I were you, abandoned like that, I'd jump off a building." I turned and looked him straight in the eye through his mask. "Why should I?" He froze, clearly not expecting that response.

"Why should I die?" I asked again, my voice steady. "If my life is so worthless that I'd throw it away just because they didn't choose me, then it really never meant anything in the first place." The man stared atfor a long moment, seemingly caught off guard. Then, he let out a sharp sigh. "Either way, you've been discarded. Tomorrow, I'm taking you with me." With that, he turned and walked past me. He sat by the window just a short distance away with his back to me.

I exhaled slowly. Then, ever so carefully, I slipped a razor blade from my pocket and began cutting the ropes binding my wrists. I had seen this coming from the moment I was reborn. That was why I always carried a blade withno matter where I went.

But that wasn't all. I even knew exactly who my captor was.

In my past life, I noticed something during the kidnapping. There was a subtle shift in the kidnapper's expression whenever he looked at Elsa. His eyes weren't just those of a hired thug there was something more to them.

That was when I ruled out the possibility that Elsa had simply paid someone to stage this. Someone was willing to go to this extent for her. Someone who, without hesitation, would cross every line for her sake.

Hence, I started digging.

Besides Jack and Jeremiah, who else in Elsa's orbit was desperate enough to do this for her? That was when I finally learned about Blake Monroe, Elsa's university classmate.

From his build to his demeanor, I was certain that the kidnapper was none other than Blake, the man who had been secretly in love with Elsa for years. Unfortunately for him, he thought that this grand gesture would finally make her notice him.

In reality, he would walk away with nothing.

No matter the outcome, whether Elsa and were harmed or not, I would make sure he ended up in prison. And not just that, I would turn him into the very blade that exposed Elsa's true colors.

My mind raced, but my hands never stopped.

Just as I was about to cut through the last of the rope, I caught a glimpse of something from the farthest window. It was a head.

It was Eric! The moment I recognized him, I gasped softly. A wave of emotion swelled up in my chest.

Eric moved with quiet precision, climbing through the window soundlessly. His sharp eyes stayed locked on Blake in the distance as he carefully approached me.

Once he reached me, he crouched low and motioned forto stay silent before lowering his head to untie my restraints.

When he noticed the razor blade in my hands, he froze for a split

second. A flicker of pain flashed through his eyes, but he said nothing and only quickened his pace. We had just gotten to our feet and were ready to slip away unnoticed when Eric accidentally knocked over a pile of debris. "Who's there?" Blake, instantly on alert, stepped away from the window and frowned. He was heading in our direction.

I grabbed Eric's arm, my instincts screaming atto flee before Blake could react, Iknew knew that as long as we escaped the building, Blake wouldn't dare chase us. But Eric didn't know that.

Upon seeing Blake approaching, he quickly turned to me. "Jae, run! I've already called the police. Once you're outside, you'll be safe. I'll handle this. Just go!"
