Chapter 146 Speak Up and NYour Boss Brock trembled under the pressure Eric exerted, but he forced a calm expression and tried to mask his fear. "Taketo the police station, then. Do you have any evidence? I haven't done anything wrong, and if you keep this up, I'll sue you for defamation!" Levi's blood boiled at Brock's nonchalant attitude. He seized his collar, and his voice was tight and angry. "You really think we can't do anything to you?" But Brock just looked at him with a taunting smirk. It was clear he didn't believe Levi would land a punch.
Eric cleared his throat softly, and his secretary immediately placed a folder before Brock.
"We only just caught you after you've been hiding for days. But do you really think it was your hiding skills that kept you safe?" Eric's voice was cool, but it carried an undeniable authority.

I stepped forward, my gaze falling on the papers. It was a report on the equipment in Brock's factory detailing the levels of heavy metal residue. The numbers were far beyond the national safety standards.
Brock's composure cracked. He fumbled for words as panic crept into his voice. "You... You didn't have permission to enter our factory. I'll sue you!" Eric raised an eyebrow, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes. "Oh?" "That's a shame. This report? The police cwith a search warrant. As for why you were unaware, well, that's thanks to your own caution that led you to throw away your SIM card, cutting off everyone who tried to reach you." Brock's face drained of color. He stared at the papers for a long moment as though gathering his courage. Then, with a sudden, almost desperate motion, he lowered his head and started to tear the papers into pieces. He even shoved them into his mouth.
Eric and the others exchanged knowing glances as we silently watched Brock's frantic behavior.
It wasn't until he had painfully swallowed the last piece of paper that Eric finally said slowly, "Go ahead. If you're still hungry, there's plenty more. Do you really think i'd give you the original document?" That one sentence sealed Brock's fate. He slumped in his chair, the light gone from his eyes.
I sat down across from him and leaned forward slightly. "Why did you do this?" Before we finalized our choice of supplier, Levi and I visited each one. Brock's factory might have been small, but the quality was always solid.
We had even learned that Brock had a sick child at home, one who desperately needed money for treatment. Because of this, we decided to collaborate with him.
His face stiffened, his eyes avoiding mine as if he were torn between his choices.

After a long silence, he slowly raised his head and locked eyes with me.
His gaze was wild, filled with a kind Q of madness. "I just can't stand you NO don't want you to run this company! You're just a woman, so why should you cout here and make a nfor yourself? And you haven't even divorced yet, but you're already flirting with others!"
Brock's eyes flickered back and forth betweenand Eric, his voice scamdripping with scorn. Since you wish to abandon the life of a rich wife, I thought I'd let you experience the real world for once."
I looked at the increasingly unhinged Brock, but I felt unnervingly caom met his eyes, and my voice was soft but unwavering. "And what about your sick child? Are you just going to forget about him?" A flicker of struggle crossed Brock's face, but he quickly suppressed it. He sneered, "He's been a burden for so long. Why should I care about him? I'll just have another one!" Though he said those words, I could see the glint of tears in his eyes, and his furrowed brows spoke less of hatred and more of pain.
I leaned in a little closer, my tone gentle. "If you tellwho's behind this, I won't pursue it any further."
