Chapter 1838
Adler peered into the gift box, her eyes widening at the stunning jewelry set nestled inside, dazzling enough to
be the pride of any store. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she quipped, "Hey, I'm a bridesmaid too; do | get a
little something?"
"Mr. Tredgold, we've got a special gift for you as well, but today, we're whisking away the bride."
"Whisk her away! With such grand gestures, Sophie's definitely marrying into a good life!"
Jenna had thought this would just be a routine affair, expecting Gordon to hand over a simple gift to wrap up the
formalities. Who knew he'd go all out like this? Wow. Who would've thought being a bridesmaid could be so
rewarding?
"Ready, my little princess?"
Gordon approached Sophie, extending his hand with gentlemanly grace. Sophie naturally placed her hand in his.
Nearby, Jenna dabbed at her eyes, moved by the moment. She'd watched Sophie grow up, and now seeing these
two finally ctogether, she couldn't help but feel a bit sentimental.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAdler watched the scene unfold and couldn't help but tease, "Why are you acting like you're giving your
daughter away? Sophie's not even crying yet."
"What do you know? We women tend to get emotional. Just wait-once the wedding starts, you'll see Sophie
bawling!"
Jenna sniffled, as Gordon swept Sophie up in his arms and carried her down the stairs.
In Gordon's arms, Sophie felt an overwhelming wave of security. She had felt this before, but today it was even
more intense. After today, she would be Gordon's wife.
Her thoughts drifted back to the dream she had the night before. In the dream, she was loved deeply by
someone, though she couldn't quite place@ho. But she was confident her choice was right. Interestingly, in that
dream, her choices were the polar opposite of her real-life decisions.
"What's up?" Gordon asked.
"Brother, I've had this weird feeling lately," Sophie confessed. "It's like there's another version ofliving a
completely different life. In that life, there'sno brother, just me, and things aren't going well. It's maderealize
how precious my life is now."
Gordon chuckled softly. He'd never been one for supernatural stuff, but even he had felt a sense of another self
recently. Yet, one thing was clear: whether in dreams or reality, Sophie was his unwavering anchor.
No matter where life took them, he was determined to stay by Sophie's side. Because he adored his little
princess. Because he couldn't bear to see her suffer in the slightest.
If there ever ca day when he had to push Sophie away, it would be because he knew he couldn't give her
the life she deserved. But today, he was confident he could promise her happiness. And he believed no one
could do it better than him.
At the wedding, the minister, with a gentle smile, looked at the couple and asked, "Mr. Gordon, do you take Ms.
Sophie to be your wife, to love, cherish, and protect her, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for as
fong as you both shall live?"
"l do."
With those words, it felt as if he had spoken a lifetime's worth of commitment.
