A scream rang out through the crowd, and the doctors rushed over to examine Andrea, but they all said the

sthing.

"There's no need for resuscitation."

Liam's body went cold. It wasn't until Andrea's body was sent to the morgue that he cback to his senses

from the chaos.

One of the maids from the villa called him, wanting to ask him when he was going home. He tapped on the

answer button, but nothing cout of his mouth. He felt as if he was being suffocated.

He had no clue how he drove home. He just felt cold and exhausted.

Entering the house, he sat down and took off his shoes. Then, he heard Grace's voice.

"Why did you get back so late?"

Grace sat in the living room. There was a gift sitting on the coffee table. It was probably his birthday gift.

Grace had actually left the villa but cback as she felt it was better to give the gift in person as it was Liam's

20th birthday. But she had not expected him to be so late. In another hour, his birthday would be over.

She had thought that he had found Andrea, and that they had gone out on a date together. So, she didn't

continue asking any more questions and pushed the gift toward him.

"This is for you. There's also a cake in the fridge. Have you eaten?"

Without waiting for his answer, she went to the fridge and brought the cake out. She took it out of the box and

stuck the candles on the cake.

Liam stood silently above the table, staring at the candles, but he had no desire to blow them out.

Grace switched off the lights in the living room, her lips twitching. "What's wrong? Did you have a bad time?"

She then unwrapped the gift. It was a pair of engagement rings. The large

diamonds sparkled under the fire. She placed the rings beside the cake. With the candlelight, everything seemed

perfect.

"Liam, I've been thinking. Even

though Andrea hates me, she

genuinely has feelings for you. You

might be considering getting engaged soon, so bought you these rings as my blessing for you two." s

Deep down, she still hated Andrea, but that didn't stop her from wishing Liam well.

Liam remained silent, staring at the cake and ring. In his eyes, Grace kept

opening her mouth to speak, but he couldn't hear a single word.

Grace continued to speak, but seeing how unresponsive he was, she was confused. "Is something wrong?"

Liam heard her but felt a pain in his ears, a pain that was now spreading to his head. He massaged his temples,

his voice hoarse "Grace since it's my birthday, would you be willing to accompany me

somewhere?" s

Without an ounce of hesitation, Grace stood up. "Where to?"

Also, why didn't he ask Andrea?

Liam walked out without giving another look at the cake and ring. He could feel

them mocking and humiliating him.

When he got into the car, he gripped the steering wheel tightly.

Once Grace got into the passenger seat, she couldn't help but ask, "Are we going to see Carmen?"

Liam stepped on the accelerator, not saying another word.

Grace could feel the coldness emanating from him, mixed with violence and

desperation.

She stopped talking and looked at

the scenery passing by them. The

car stopped after 40 minutes, but

there were no lights here. It was.

pitch-black. s

Frowning, Grace knew that something was terribly wrong. "What the hell are you doing?"

Liam looked ahead, his voice calm. "There's someone out there looking for you. They're thinking of having a chat

with you."

Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she scoffed in anger. "Liam Lambert, are you kidnappingbecause of

Andrea?"
