Liam headed downstairs. He hadn't driven himself, so he hailed a cab from the curb.

As he settled into the back seat, he checked his phone. Just as he entered the guest room earlier, a new

message cthrough.

"If you want to know the truth about that man, go back to Bensville. You'll find the clues there."

Liam didn't need to ask who the message was about. He already knew it was about Grace's so-called mysterious

boyfriend.

He never liked Ed, not one bit. And now, he was determined to dig up proof- anything that would get Grace to

break up with him for good.

He swung by his own place to grab his car before leaving for Bensville.

He didn't expect Andrea to be waiting for him. The moment she saw him, her eyes welled with tears.

"Liam, why are you back so late?" she questioned.

He was still irritated over what she'd pulled earlier, but seeing her forcing herself to stay awake softened him a

little. He didn't want to say anything mean.

Upon sensing his hesitation, Andrea immediately shifted her tone to something small and careful. "I know | was

wrong. She's your sister. | won't treat her that way again. Please don't stay mad, okay?"

She was banking on the fact that she was pregnant and that Liam, no matter how angry, wouldn't cut her off

completely because of it.

Sure enough, his expression eased slightly.

"Grace isn't just my sister-she's going to be your sister-in-law. Andrea, | warned you. | don't want anything like

that happening again."

Something cold flickered in Andrea's eyes, but her face lit up with a smile as she nodded obediently. She then

said, "Okay, | understand. Let's get srest. It's already really late."

But Liam grabbed a pair of gloves and shook his head. "I've got something | need to take care of. I'll be back by

Christmas Eve. Get ssleep, and don't wait up for me. Take care of yourself and the baby."

Andrea immediately grabbed his arm, her tone confused and pleading. "It's almost Christmas. What could be so

urgent that you have to leave now? Can't this wait until after Christmas?"

Liam didn't bother lying. As he changed shoes, he answered bluntly, "I haven't met Grace's boyfriend yet. I'm

worried she's being misled, so I'm going to look into him."

It was about Grace again.

Andrea's hand, still hanging at her side, curled tightly into a fist.

She had planned to use these next few days to finally get closer to Liam and maybe build sreal intimacy.

Now, he was leaving because of Grace.

She clenched her jaw so hard that it hurt, but she forced a smile.

"Then letgo with you. It's late, and I'll worry if you're on the road alone. Liam, | really am worried."

"You should stay home. Have the chef make something nice for Christmas Eve. I'll cback in tfor dinner.

Grace will be joining us too."

That fake smile nearly cracked off Andrea's face. Why was Grace always everywhere in her life?

Fine-Liam was leaving? Perfect. She'd use this window to make Grace disappear for good. After that, no one

would be there to interfere with her and Liam's lives.

She hadn't forgotten her original reason for seducing Liam. This was revenge. "Alright then. Be careful. I'll call

you every day to check in," Andrea said sweetly. Liam nodded, grabbed his keys, and left.

The second the door clicked shut, Andrea called Joanne.

She quickly filled her in on Liam's sudden trip and then asked straight out, "Can we hire someone to kill Grace?"

Joanne was quiet on the other end, her lips slowly curving into a smile.

"Of course. If Liam's not coming back for a few days, here's what you'll do. The night after tomorrow, call Grace

and tell her Liam's gone missing. Oh-and if he hasn't left yet, mess with his phone. Block Grace's number. That

way, when she can't reach him, she'll panic and go looking for him. That'll be the perfect tto strike."

Andrea's eyes lit up, admiration and excitement flaring at once.

She had to admit that Joanne was seriously sharp to think of that.
