Chapter 365: Relics Astrid's POV Rowena's quarters sat on the outskirts of Silvermoon territory, a place that felt as removed from the Pack's core as Rowena herself.

The journey there was quiet, the tension between Killian andpalpable.

I could tell he was already regretting agreeing to this, but we didn't have the luxury of letting emotions cloud our judgment.

The rogue attacks were escalating. They were organized, purposeful, and more ruthless than ever.

If Rowena had answers that could shed light on the Rogue King's plans, we had no choice but to seek her out.

Rowena had always been a thorn in our sides—a manipulative force who thrived on power plays. But she was also cunning, and if she knew anything about the Rogue King, she might just be the key to understanding what we were up against.

As we approached her quarters, the scent of burning herbs filled the air.

Rowena's hwas modest but had an aura of quiet power. It was an illusion, I knew-a way to remind every one of what she once was.

Killian's jaw was tight as he moved toward the door. I followed, my wolf stirring uneasily as he knocked.

When Rowena opened the door, her sharp gaze swept over us. She looked composed, her graying hair perfectly pinned, her expression giving nothing away.

"Killian. Astrid," she greeted, stepping aside to let us in. "To what do I owe this... rare visit?" Killian stood beside me, his arms crossed, his jaw tight. He hadn't said a word. The silence between them was a force of its own, heavy with resentment and years of betrayal.

Finally, I broke the silence. "You said you have information for us," I said, my tone clipped. "What is it?" Elysande opened the door for us. "Cinside before we talk." Killian opened his mouth to protest, likely to tell his mother to just speak now, but I stepped inside instantly.

We can't talk about this serious matter like this outside.

Killian and I both settled down. Rowena sat across from us.

"Before I share anything, I want guarantees," Rowena spoke as soon as she sat down, her voice smooth as silk.

"Guarantees?" Killian's voice cut through the air like a blade. "You're not in a position to ask for anything, Mother." She smirked, the faintest hint of amusement in her eyes. "Aren't I? You're facing a threat you don't understand, one that could destroy your precious Pack. And I'm the only one who can help you stop it." My wolf stirred uneasily, sensing the truth in her words. As much as I hated to admit it, she wasn't wrong.

The Rogue King was a shadow looming over all of us, and we were fumbling in the dark, trying to find a way to stop him.

If Elysande truly had information, we couldn't afford to ignore it.

"What do you want?" I asked, cutting off Killian before he could argue further.

Her gaze flicked to me, a glimmer of respect in her eyes. "Protection," she said simply. "If I give you what know,+ want your word that I'll be safe. No trials, no punishments. You'll leavealone." Killian scoffed, stepping forward. "You're out of your mind if you think we'll give you that." I placed a hand on his arm, stopping him. "And what happens if we don't?" I asked Elysande. "What if we decide you're not worth the risk?" Her lips curved into a knowing smile. "Then you'll face the Rogue King unprepared. And we both know how that will end." "Speak," Killian said curtly, not even waiting for her to sit.

Elysande raised an eyebrow but didn't comment on his tone. "The Rogue King isn't just building an army," she said, her voice steady "He's gathering artifacts. Powerful ones Things that haven't been seen in centuries." I frowned, leaning forward. "What kind of artifacts?" Her gaze flicked to me, her expression darkening. "Things that can alter the balance of power. There's one in particular he's after. A relic that suppresses Almega abilities." The air seemed to still, the weight of her words pressing down on me. "You're saying he can neutralize me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

She nodded. "If he gets his hands on it, yes. That's why he's been targeting Packs with ancient ties-places where relics like this might be hidden." Killian stiffened beside me. "Why are you telling us this? What do you gain from helping us?"

Elysande's expression didn't wayer. "Because the Rogue King isn't just a

threat to you. He's a threat to all of us. If he succeeds, there won't be any Racks left to rule-or betray." Her words hung in the air, a chilling reminder of the stakes we were facing. For all her faults, Elysande was right.

The Rogue King's plans didn't leave room for alliances or survivors. He wanted total domination. "Where is this relic?" I asked, my voice firm.

She hesitated, just for a moment, before answering. "In the ruins of the Nighthowl Forest. That's where he's headed." There used to be a small community of werewolves living at the Nighthowl Forest, but it had been wiped out years ago, their land abandoned and overrun by rogues.

If the relic was there, it wouldn't be easy to retrieve it-especially if the Rogue King was already making his move.

Killian walked besideas we left the war room, his expression grim. "This is a trap," he said quietly. "You know that, right?" I nodded. "But it's one we have to walk into. If he gets that relic..." He didn't respond, but I could feel his unease. It mirrored my own.

For now, we had a direction. But the path ahead was more dangerous than ever.

And the shadows were closing in.
