At the sound of her name, Aubrey turned to face Ulrich, smiling as she spoke. “Well, well... long
tno see, Ulrich. Funny thing is-last t| saw you, you looked just as pathetic.”
“You-!"
Ulrich had barely twitched when the warrior behind Alpha Mateo raised his gun and pointed it
directly at him. Ulrich himself might still be uninjured, but the three beta warriors left at his side
were all hurt-there was no way they could overpower the armed guards.
If Ulrich so much as lunged, his remaining men would be the first to die.
Utterly cornered, Ulrich glared at Aubrey with pure malice. “What do you want from me? I’ve never
even wronged you!”

“No grudge?” Aubrey’s eyes sparkled with mock surprise as she started counting on her fingers.
“Let’s see... First twe met, you nearly killed me. Not to mention you almost infectedwith a
deadly virus. Cto think of it, I’m still a little traumatized.”
But no matter how hard he stared, Ulrich couldn't see even a trace of fear on this omega’s face. Her tone was
playful, but her eyes were razor-sharp. If anything, it was he who looked cornered and afraid.
“You humiliatedat Gold Mountain!” he snapped. “And it’s not like you died! Now thanks to you, Alpha Henry's
been gunning forfor months! Do you even know how much I've lost because of you?!”
What a twisted logic-if she didn’t die, none of it counted?
Aubrey chuckled. “Oh, | know exactly how broke you are right now. Maybe you were planning to use the treasure
in this cave to buy your way out of trouble.”
She smiled faintly, “But what's that got to do with me? You wanteddead-now | want you dead. Sounds like a
fair trade, don’t you think?”
Ulrich’s face darkened as he took a slow step back. He glanced at one of his warriors, giving a subtle signal. If
they could just get their hands on Aubrey, they might still have a shot.
“I wouldn't try anything if | were you.”
Aubrey’s smile vanished. Her voice turned cold as she addressed the three beta warriors flanking Ulrich. “You
really think he’s worth dying for? Surrender right now, and Ill let you live. You get one chance.”

Ulrich’s gaze snapped to his men, and his voice turned into a dangerous snarl. “Don’t forget who gave you
everything you have! Your rank-your families! If | die, your families die with
me!”
The three warriors didn’t answer.
Aubrey watched them coolly. She knew exactly what kind of alpha Ulrich was. He ruled the Tempest
Pack with tyranny, controlling his subordinates through fear and punishment. But fear could only
command so much. None of them truly respected him.
Real loyalty only cfrom admiration—like what Henry inspired in his warriors. Henry was the
kind of alpha men would willingly die for. Because he, too, would sacrifice himself to protect his
pack.
“That threat doesn’t scare me,” Aubrey said coldly. “Either you surrender, and he dies alone, or you
fight for him-and die with your whole family. Your choice.”
The flickering courage in the eyes of the three warriors vanished in an instant.
“...Alpha...” one of them murmured, stepping back. “I don’t want to die.”
He raised both hands in surrender, ignoring Ulrich’s furious, disbelieving glare.
Once the first man folded, the others followed. Simple math. A basic survival instinct.
“You...”
Ulrich couldn’t breathe. Watching his last loyal men surrender without a fight—trapped, powerless,
and alone-was worse than death itself.
